Dog Lift Harness

STORM is my 13 year old Springer Spaniel. Over the years he has developed Arthritis in his back legs. We treat this with Cosequin and Bufferin but after a couple awkward landings jumping out of the car, he stopped going up the stairs. 12 steps can be intimidating to look up at when an intelligent dog know he has an injury. My wife stayed downstairs with him a couple nights, then I carried him up a couple nights since he does not like to be left alone downstairs. I saw this product on Amazon and figured for 30 bucks I'd give it a shot. It wrapped around him in seconds. The first time I hoisted him up 3 steps at a time twice and he went up himself the rest of the way. The 2nd and 3rd times 3 steps one time. Tonite I went to put it on him. He looked at the harness then looked at me as to say "I got this" and went up without it. His confidence is restored and this product will also be useful to get him out of the car without a dangerous jump. Great for lifting and for training. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Purchased this for a friend who was fostering a golden retriever puppy that suffers from cerebellar hypoplasia and cannot walk without assistance. It turns out this was a little too large for him right now, but will fit him as he grows. The products itself seems very well made and, with some modifications to make it fit, is very helpful for keeping him balanced so he can walk without falling over. It's a huge help for his human caretakers that were breaking their backs trying to keep him upright!

too big for my dog (too big around). couldn't find any sizing info, and thought i would take a change. with shipping, $50 down the drain.looking at the picture, it is very accurate. the sleeve does not fit snugly around the dog, and slips back and forth. you look at the picture and think this can help support the dog while walking. since it is loose, it doesn't stay in place and can't be used while walking. with my longer body dog, it is too short (front to back) to gently life the dog (again, it slips).

The picture shows that it fits a Dutch Shepherd, and one of the reviews claims it fits a Golden Retriever. I don't see how that is possible. It barely fits around my fit 60lb Rhodesian Ridgeback. This is more catered towards medium slender dogs in my opinion.The other issue is the design makes the harsh side of the Velcro exposed against the dog which I imagine is uncomfortable, and can get tangled in their hair.

First of all, it's red, not black like the pictures...I should have read through everything better. The sizing guide was off, my dog has a 41" chest (he's a larger golden retriever) and it's not even close to velcro'ing onto him. By no means does this item feel "heavy duty", but it seems to do the job even if it doesn't Velcro. Helping him go up stairs with it works fine, but going down stairs it just slips all the way to his back legs and causes him to fall. Luckily I was expecting that so I had his chest harness (which are great!) on. I'm starting to realize the only use of this item I have is pretty much just for going up stairs.

I Have a 14 year old shepherd/lab mix, my old boys back legs are not what they used to be, I found this product to be amazing, it helps lift him up the steps after our morning walk, he was a little hesitant at first. He now waits while i put it around him , it's only a few steps but sometimes his back legs give way, I use the harness it takes just enough pressure off his legs and up the steps we go. I would highly recommend this product.

This was a huge help post-surgery after my 55-pound boxer had ACL surgery, but wish it was configured a bit differently -- wider to cover more of the dog's chest, and also wish the Velcro was more secure and durable. It kept coming undone and she'd slip back/forth as we were trying to lift her. However, I just say overall it was a smart purchase and we made good use out of it.

Has great velcro that has held up well to multiple uses with heavy dogs. The handles are a good length for average height person if you are like 5 foot they are to long. All of the stitching is holding up well. Only down fall we have had is that it is designed for thin dogs. If you have a dog with a very large chest it will not fit around.
