Loved the book? you will love this
I really hope at some point he will be allowed to make the other books into graphic novels like this! The level of detail and flow all come through the pages perfectly. With that said though, a small thing to keep in mind, READ THE BOOK FIRST. The book was a big beefy thing, so you know some stuff will be skipped over or even changed slightly. If you didn't read the book, you might miss some things, or get confused at what you are seeing. This (in my mind) is a companion to the book, a read me after you did the book.

Good but not Night Angel Good
I loved the Night Angel Trilogy. It may be my favorite book series of them all, which is why the graphic novel did leave me a bit disappointed. I know that some things have to be lost in the compression of a book to another form of media, but for me, those losses eat away at what would have been a five star rating otherwise. The entire exclusion of the Serah subplot, as well as Magdalene, means the removal of those characters from the next book as well, which removes a large amount of the personal tragedy that Kylar experiences. In other places, it simply means the loss of some trademark humor or simply the depth of the characters. For the standard reader, it's a great novel, but for fans of the series, it falls just a bit short.

Cool perspective on a great series
The original book is one of my favorite fantasy fiction reads. Reading this in comic book form was actually really cool and I love the idea. Although I had a somewhat different picture of the characters and world in my head, this gave me an interesting perspective of what the author and artist wanted to create in their own minds. Also, I read the book many years ago, so this was a really nice refresher, which helped when I read the novella, The Perfect Shadow relating to Durzo's character. I really hope this Graphic Novel series continues through the entire Night Angel Trilogy as I really enjoyed this. The only complaint I would have is that I wish it were in color rather than black and white, since that would probably make it a little more palpable.Update (4/17/15):As a clarification, this book is a graphic novel version of only the first book of the original trilogy.

Like a refresher course
It's been years since I picked up the Night Angel books. This was like a wicked detailed summary of the events of the first book and reminded me how much I liked reading them. While the art is good and it's always cool to see different people's interpretation of things, a lot of it just didn't look like how I saw them in my own mind's eye. But I'm glad I have it, and I really hope that the other books will get this condensed and illustrated treatment.

Good, but could have been great
I can understand the need to cut plot when converting a novel into a graphic novel, but I think in this case a little too much was cut. The effect was that unless you had read the novel, the plot early on was hard to follow. This was added to by the fact that some of the characters, while well drawn, looked a little too similar to each other and added to the confusion. Use of colour and more variation to character appearance may have helped this. Also, the inclusion of a character page at the beginning of the novel as is commonly found in comic books may have assisted. Lastly, it would have been great if it had been released in three volumes rather than one so that so much of the great plot twists and turns were not lost.Overall, still a good read, especially if you are a Brent Weeks fan. I'm looking forward to what the next instalment may be like.

the proper book gets a full 5 stars and I can't recommend it enough
This is only a review of the graphic novel, the proper book gets a full 5 stars and I can't recommend it enough. Brent Weeks' story is great as ever, but I wouldn't recommend reading this in place of it. The art was sloppy in a lot of places and it just feels like it misrepresented the characters. In full disclosure though, I've never been a fan of American comic books because they look very thrown together with a minimum of editing and cleaning up. This is certainly in that same style, so people who DO like the style of American comic books might still like it. It isn't my cup of tea though.

A good artistic display of a fantastic story
I am a huge fan of the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks so I was excited to find this Graphic Novel through my suggestions. The quality of this product (including the cover, cover sleeve, binding, and pages) is superior to many other graphic novels. The illustrations were pleasing to the eye and depicted in a good way. My only issue with this novel is that it was not longer; but that is through my own greed of being a such a big fan of the series. I would not consider this a necessity to the average fan of the Night Angel Trilogy but if you enjoyed the books and you enjoy graphic novels or art in general, you will very much enjoy this book.

Very Awesome Adaptation!
I will have to reread the series of books again. Just a great story with great twists and being a graphic novel didn't hurt the tale at all. Really well done!

Really brilliant .... 5 stars.
I always feel I don't do these graphic novels justice. I love Brent Weeks work and devour his novels instantly. I've even read this one but decided to read it again. The trouble is I physically have to remind myself to slow down and enjoy the artwork. I do and it's beautiful but I need to take more time because there's obviously a HUUUUGE amount of work gone into the art. It's a fabulous book and if you have someone you wished read more then give them this.My only niggle is the characters never look how I imagined them :-) but then that's the joys of a great imagination.Thoroughly recommended ... give this to someone for Christmas.

Good but doesn’t bring the book to life
Was very short and missed some important points of the book, but that’s obviously because the books is so long. I enjoyed the dark art however I thought the action could have been drawn better.

If you liked The Night Angel then this is a MUST
Very nice piece of art, well written and the drawings are awesome. It really captures the essence of Cenaria and main characters.

A Brilliant Graphic Novel adaption
A brilliant interpretation of the Novel. A truly well executed (pun intended) piece of storytwlling via art.Black & White adds atmosphere and the images really link into the novels cover art showing Weeks is still guiding the ship.
