Nice one.

The Preliminaries of the book can be a little intimidating, but this also encourages the reader to look up solutions and learn on their own. The texts in the later parts (Group Theory, in particular) are very nicely elaborated, and can be comprehended easily, provided time is invested in reading the material. Historical notes provided at the end of chapters are also quite interesting and informative. Overall, this is an excellent book.

Good book

Most of the traditional books go for theorems and proofs and shows mathematical examples. Gallian focuses on giving students a real world view of abstract algebra.Its not always about solving questions but rather learning applied part also.This book speaks with the readers and it has a lot of diagrams to guide the readers.There are ample amount of questions and the questions are not repetitive.There are also famous quotes at the start of chapters and exercise which further motivaties and makes the book one of a kind. I never used to study maths in general but this book makes my math G.E. course really fun to do.

This book is very useful for all bsc guys or whoever is interested in learning deep mathematics, no words to explain and the packaging is extremely good....good book at low price.

This book has Very nice explanation ,easy to understand,good amount of examples and exercises and covers almost every topic of algebra.. it's very good book for self study. Best book of algebra for undergraduate students.

If you have some knowledge about abstract algebra then you can buy this book . But if you donot have any knowledge about abstract algebra then you should go for basic abstract algebra by P.B.BHATTACHARYA , this book can build your basic concepts and after that you can buy any other book

The book itself is known , more than amazing, regarding the quality of the book paper, it is excellent although the book is not coloured

I was attracted to the book because it appeared to have a very extensive set of "solved" problems. I would have given this book a five-star rating but upon close examination, however, it turns out that a great meny of the so-called "solutions" are simply special cases of unsolved even-numbered problems and their "solution" simply refers back to the general (unpublished) result. Worthless and infuriating. Maybe the Nicholson book would be a better choice.
