bitplay SNAP! Case + SNAP! Grip Professional Set (for iPhone XR)

Bitplay has made a case and lens system truly geared towards iPhone/smartphone photographers by giving them an ergonomic, modular fully featured kit that is unparalleled.The first picture shows the case with the Snap Grip and Wide Angel + Macro lens (Review for that lens on it’s page)The case fit perfectly so much so that it did take a minute to ease it in but as seen in the third photo it has a great fit and is well thought out. It just feels great in your hands the fit and finish is on point! The buttons have a nice tactical feel to them, they feel like you’re actually pressing a button and not just mashing down on rubber hoping to make contact. The small grip is much more unobtrusive than I thought it would be and almost perfect for gripping the phone for quick shots, especially with the grooves on the bottom right corner.The snap grip is another great addition, it feels great in the hand, the shutter button works flawlessly and the remote function of it is a great addition. My main reason for getting the grip was for its ability to mount to a tripod and the other features are a nice added bonus. Definitely a great product, one I’d recommend and purchase again on my next phone upgrade.

I just completed a five-day hiking trip on which my iPhone XR was used almost entirely as a point-and-shoot camera. The SNAP! Case and Grip combo were perfect for my needs. The case is sturdy and very grippy and even with the grip attached I was able to put the phone into my pocket. The combination of the grippy case and the wrist strap allowed me to confidently shoot one-handed even while standing on rocks at the edge of a cliff. And the grip and its shutter button made it possible to shoot one-handed without contorting my fingers to reach the volume button without blocking the lens.The case is not super-decorative, but it’s so tough and grippy I think I’m just going to leave it on as my regular phone case. (I actually just switched back to my old case and I’ve nearly dropped the phone twice while writing this review. 🙄)I’m looking forward to trying one of the bitplay lenses, but the case and grip combination on their own are absolutely worthwhile.My only minor complaints:It is extremely difficult to screw the grip/shutter button onto the case. You have to kind of press down and wiggle it around a bit and spin and spin thumb wheel until it engages. Once it’s attached, it remains attached perfectly and it’s easy to remove.While bouncing around in my pocket with the shutter button attached, my phone did some weird things. I got plenty of pics of the inside of my pocket, but I’d also get the phone out and find it on the medical emergency info screen for some reason. Admittedly an easy fix for this would have been to not put it in my pocket, but I needed two hands from time-to-time.

I had a BitPlay Snap case for my IPhone 7 Plus and loved it. I was so happy to see they made one for my iPhone XS Max. I’m a semi professional photographer with a great set of photo gear but it’s great to be able to have my iPhone as an alternative for on the go photos. This case turns my iPhone into a real camera, and the removable shutter button is a great enhancement over the previous model. Add the nice grip, tripod thread and strap and it’s a winner. If you’re serious about using your iPhone XS Max as a camera get this case! Oh and the built in lens thread for their lenses is a plus.

Great product overall, however the blue tooth shutter is a little odd with other photo applicationsTrying to remove my phone from this case makes it feel like the phone is going to snap in half, other then that its a good product would recommend for any mobile photography person

I have owned Bitplay cases for my other iPhones and have loved them. This one, not so much. The case does what it is designed to do, allow for the mounting of lenses and providing a grip and trigger. That is all fine. Where I have problems with this case is with attaching the grip. They have made the screw smaller on this version and it is very difficult to attach the grip to the case. The screw doesn't want to catch the receptacle on the case and will just spin. Every time that I have removed the grip I have regretted it since I know it will take a good half hour of messing with it to get it back on. I now leave the grip attached all of the time. Other than that, this is a good product and greatly enhances iPhone photography.

I take far more photographs with my iPhone than with my Lumix DSLR, simply because I always have my phone with me. It's much easier to take decent photographs with a camera case around the phone - particularly with the new Bluetooth shutter. The downside is that it makes the iPhone rather bulky: slimmer would be good.
