Biotera Alcohol-Free Styling Gel, 13.5-Ounce

I know it sounds dramatic, but if you have dry, frizzy, curly hair, you understand how a product that actually works on your hair can change your life. I've tried so many products for curly hair--mostly the more expensive products like Deva, Aveda, and Ouidad. I decided to try this gel b/c it was recommended by Curly Susie on Youtube. So glad I did. It is the best gel I've ever used. It leaves your curls defined, not crunchy or flakey. And the best part is NO FRIZZ.

I have been looking for a hair gel since the DevaCARE line was eliminated. Finally, after trying all the Ouidad gels, all the new Deva gels, and a few others, tried no gel, just conditioner, just curl cream, I find that this new version of the venerable Sally's Biotera gel has the best result. The frizz is gone, the frizz is gone, praise god almighty the frizz is gone. After months of bad hair with all the experimenting, my hair finally looks good again.This is a medium/firm hold gel. It doesn't feel great on first application, is a little sticky and difficult to distribute, doesn't like to spread out or sink in. The smell is very pleasant and fresh. I smoothed it onto damp hair already loaded with conditioner and AG Recoil curl cream, then scrunched hair to distribute the gel. Was worried by the sticky feeling but when I flipped up to look, could already see improvement vs. all the other ones I have been trying lately. I diffused it halfway dry and then waited until it was completely dry before twisting and fluffing it, and BOOM! Beautiful bouncy waves and curls. Frizz well within tolerable levels.My hair type is coarse in texture, resistant, strong hair type, stubbornly but not tightly curly.

TOTAL GAME CHANGER. I'm a curly girl and after seeing this gel recommended on a YouTube channel I decided to try it. Leaves my hair feeling soft and silky, almost no frizz, no gel cast/crunch, and doesn't dry out my hands after applying! I've never used gel in my hair before but this stuff is AMAZING and has been a total game changer for my hair. I love my curls and get so many compliments on my hair whenever I go out! I combine it with DevaCurl's Wavemaker. I will use both products for life!

If you're a 4C'er like me you know the struggle of styling your hair in a way that doesn't look like a bunch of fuzz. Until now, I pretty much though it was a lost cause. I'm a very sporty active person, so I don't want a long drawn out styling process. I find protective styles (twists, bantu knots and etc.) are beautiful, but take too much time to finish. I want to get my day started already!!I saw a youtuber with frankly hair that was NO WHERE near as curly as mine, but I was so tired of using all of the gels recommended by other people (eco styler, kinky curly, deva curl, and blah blah). Honestly, my expectations were super low, but it was a new gel I hadn't heard of that doesn't have alcohol.BAM!I did my normal styling routine with my 4C partially curly but mostly zig zag hair. This stuff doesn't appear to be made for my hair type based on all of the youtube reviews, but hot diggity it was a game changer. My hair actually had some hold to it. It does not flake whatsoever. However, not all is roses and rainbows.It has A LOT of crunch. So, it does feel super crunchy, but hey--this is the happiest I've ever been without going to the salon. I definitely recommend this gel for my fellow 4C'ers and I don't recommend products often. Definitely make sure your hair is detangled and ready for application and you should be good to go.

Incredible- best hair product I’ve ever tried! Holds curls and hair is soft, shiny and flexible at the same time. I have very fine naturally curly hair that’s prone to frizz, this is the miracle gel I’ve been searching for. Put in when wet, used plastic (not bristle) brush to smooth hair down into large lumped together curls til air dry, then gently fluff roots, separate curls then give it a light shake. Wow!!

Works better than the Matrix Biologe gelee. Forms a nice cast around curls and breaks clean without residue on curly hair. All day hold on super curly hair. Frankly, I’m so impressed that I actually came back to leave this good review.

I bought this gel after it was recommended by some curly girl youtubers in hopes of taming my crazy summer frizz and get more curl definition. I have 2c/3a curls with very bleach damaged ends which makes my hair not want to curl. Athough I usually use a curl cream I thought perhaps I could do the gel cast technique and it would hold my frizz together. I’ve tried using this gel alone, mixed with a curl cream, mixed with a leave conditioner, lots of it, a little and all resulted in the same thing - crispy dried out hair. However the parts of my hair that are in good shape did have great curls so maybe it’s just me?

I love this. I'm doing curly girl and it's a product I can use with that.it does,t make my hair overly crunchy, it smells good, and it's not sticky.
