Product Description The woman of his dreams is out there the question is, who is she? Told in a series of flashbacks, How I Met Your Mother is the hilariously unpredictable story of how twenty-something Ted meets his soul mate and says goodbye to the singles world of pick-up lines, one night stands and relationship deal-breakers. Things have a funny way of working out in this delightfully fresh and fast-paced comedy. .com No other sitcom is as gleefully inventive as How I Met Your Mother. The basic setup is familiar stuff: Five charming, good-looking twentysomethings pal around New York City seeking love and happiness. But many episodes have a narrative trick. For example, when his friends try to persuade Ted (Josh Radnor) from going on a date with the doctor removing the butterfly tattoo he got while drunk, their justifications send the show careening back and forth among three interconnected flashbacks. Other episodes repeat scenes from different perspectives, or leap forward, or interrupt scenes to provide necessary exposition. None of this is groundbreaking, but it is consistently smart and clever--and when combined with crisp comic dialogue and zippy performances, it's pure sitcom delight. This is a show that manages to make a gang's in-jokes actually funny. Season Three is absolutely essential for any fan of the show, because this is the season we actually meet the title character; after two years of preamble, the mother to Ted's unnamed kids finally appears! But there are abundant other reasons to get this season, including Marshall (Jason Segel, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) buying a crooked apartment, Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) getting the yips and getting slapped, and the return of Robin Sparkles, Canadian teenybopper alter-ego of Robin (Cobie Smulders). There's a wee bit of unfortunate stuntcasting (though she doesn't embarrass herself, Britney Spears still sticks out by dint of sheer inescapable celebrity), but it's a minor flaw in an all-around superb season. Add in an abundance of commentaries, featurettes, music videos, additional scenes, and How I Met Your Mother: Season Three is clearly a must-have for fans and a great introduction for newcomers. --Bret Fetzer Stills from How I Met Your Mother: Season Three (Click for larger image)

HIMYM - The Legendary Season Three!
The HIMYM gang [again guided by director Pam Fryman] returns with 20 more legendary episodes in How I Met Your Mother - Season Three. When Season 2 of How I Met Your Mother ended, Marshall and Lily had finally hooked back up (and tied the knot), but Ted and Robin had suddenly split up. The situations were reversed when Season 1 ended. Season Three picks up sometime later after Season Two with Robin introducing her new Argentinean lover, Gael (Enrique Iglesias) to the gang and Ted hooking up with a wild tattooed woman (Mandy Moore) after going out to party with Barney. The end result from that encounter later leads Ted (in "Ten Sessions") to a chance meeting with Stella (Sarah Chalke, fresh from NBC's recently ended Scrubs), a dermatologist and possible "mother" candidate who he falls for in the season's most engaging story arc. Props must be given to the series creators for the attention to continuity featured each season as past acquaintances (Trudy from Season One's "The Pineapple Incident" returns with a tempting opportunity for Ted in "Third Wheel") and plot devices ("The Goat" from Season One's "Milk" and Season Two's "Slap Bet" in "Slapsgiving") are revisited this season with hilarious results. Guest stars include Britney Spears (in a comeback role and the show's highest rated episode ever), Danica McKellar ("The Wonder Years"), Busy Philipps ("Dawson's Creek," "ER"), Maggie Wheeler ("Friends"), James Van Der Beek ("Dawson's Creek"), Wayne Brady ("Whose Line Is It, Anyway?"), Will Forte ("Saturday Night Live") and models Heidi Klum, Marisa Miller, Alessandra Ambrosio, Selita Ebanks and Adriana Lima. Must watch - talented ensemble!
I started watching this because my son loved it. I got addicted to the characters right away. These guys become like your friends and you want to hang with them. Even the woman-mongering lothario Barney, played by Neil Patrick Harris (I know there's a joke in there somewhere), becomes someone you care about. This cast has such a great chemistry, they must be having too much fun playing these characters - it doesn't feel like work for them. The main character is Ted Mosby,(played by Josh Radnor) an architect, who is telling his children in the future how he met their mother in the past. It took a lot of seasons for him to reveal that but you love the trip along the way. He's a cute guy that many people will "get" and enjoy as he goes from one girlfriend to another trying to find "the one" he wants to marry. And he wants to get married. He's not a player.I've been a huge fan of Alyson Hannigan since Buffy The Vampire Slayer and she continues to satisfy in this in the role of Lily. Lily is married to Marshall Eriksen played by Jason Segal and they've been together since they were college freshman. These two actors really sell it that they love each other and are together and you, the viewer, buy it. No contest. These two have to be really in love. And their craziness is entertaining as well.I first saw Cobie Smulders in the Avengers and I'm glad I did because I completely bought her that role. Had I seen this series first, I might not have because she really is a wonderful comedic actress and really owns the part she plays, a Canadian-born, news anchor named Robin Scherbatsky. She not afraid to get wet, dirty, fall down, lose control or anything else to get the laugh. When an actress is that pretty, there usually isn't any depth behind the image. But she's the real deal and I love watching her channel Lucille Ball. There are a ton of story lines in this series, but you will follow them all with devotion, because these guys (and gals) will become your new best friends. You don't need to know more, you need to get this series and watch from the beginning!

This show is Legen.....wait for it.....dary!!!
One word for this amazing show: LEGEN.....wait for it and I hope you're not lactose-intolerant because the next part of this word is...........DA(I)RY!!!If you thought that line was corny, you need to watch this show because the actor who delivers it (Neal Patrick Harris) is at his best and corniest in this AWESOME show delivering lines you never thought could be passed off on a TV show. But this is by no means a one-man act....the whole main cast is absolutely funny and you are always amused, entertained, and intrigued by the silly and yet-so-new-york-like-life. And viewers always come back for more, not just for the humor and the story line but after all, don't we all want to know how Ted Mosby met the mother of his children? If you liked FRIENDs and SEINFELD, then you are going to absolutely LOVE this show!!!

Refreshing
Usually, there is a risk with shows that start really great with their first season. The characters have the risk of making the same jokes and the story keeps giving you the same lines. Not with the season 3 of How I Met Your Mother. In Season 3, you'll get to see the struggles of a married Marshall & Lily, a whole new chapter for two characters and new jokes, Robin coming back with Gael (Enrique Iglesias) and the jokes surrounding it and Barney's relation with Abby (Britney Spears) alone would make it a reason enough to get this one. (By the way, Britney's role playing is pretty good, I was prejudiced at first but think she's done great). The guys of How I Met Your Mother have created a great show and the third season is another proof. Highly recommended.
