I have a German made holtkoetter light canon torch lamp that had four 150 watt halogen bulbs in it. Over the years I have stopped turning it on due to the amount of energy it used. Swapping out the halogen bulbs for these LED 15 watt bulbs will save me on the cost of the electricity that was prohibiting me from wanting to use this lamp. These bulbs are supposed to be the equivalent of 120 watt bulbs and to be honest we had never used the lamp at its full intensity in the past. The lamp was always way too bright at 600 watts. These bulbs make it plenty bright enough for our needs. The lamp has two dimmers on it that operate two of the bulbs separate from the other two. The dimmer function works fine with these bulbs with this lamp. At this point I am very pleased with the quality of the bulbs. As for durability only time will tell.

Writing this review, hoping it will help some poor soul in a similar situation. I have a couple of the old holtkoetter lamps that took a BA15D 100W halogen bulb, I believe the original was the osram sylvania 18858 – that has been discontinued.Over the years, I have been replacing the bulbs with various aftermarkets halogens, notably the Kandolite 18858, running anywhere from $10-$25 apiece, and would last anywhere from 1-3 years. My main complaint has been safety as a potential fire hazard as they run hot. And some bulbs didn't work at all.The last several years I've been hunting for an LED replacement. The issue is most LEDs don't have nearly the same lumens, so they appear very dim. The way the lamps shade is built, it diffuses the light a lot. So I was delighted to see this 15W LED become available.My short review is that it does work, but requires some modification you may not be willing to do. The bulb mount for the lamp is a ceramic cylinder with a narrow diameter. The ceramic base of the bulb is the exact diameter of the lamp's bulb housing. And the diameter of the plastic housing that surrounds the bulb is about 2 millimeters too large to fit.For 1 of the 4 bulbs I ordered, the ceramic part of the bulb was too wide to fit into the mount, so I had to return it. For 3 of the 4 bulbs, the ceramic part of the bulb just barely fit, so I used a metal file from home depot to sand the plastic at the base so it would fit into the mount. And it still needed some elbow grease to get it to push down and twist in properly.After that, it's been smooth sailing! The bulb is similar brightness to the halogens and runs slightly warm to the touch, I could not be happier after years of searching. Hopefully it lasts awhile. If you don't want to DIY this bulb to get it to fit, but still want an LED, you could find something in the 10W range that has a slimmer base, or keep using halogens.

This replacement light is so bright you can use the stock lamp and it it prefect and exceedingly bright. and it douse not get hot so no accidentals burning your hand or arm like the stock bulbs.

I bought this bulb for my pizza warmer, it working fine.

The porcelain portion of the bulb is larger in diameter than the non-LED bulb. Won't fit down into the socket.

definitely not as bright as a 120 watt halogen (seems more like 75 equivalent), and the first one only lasted 6 months on a switch that's probably used for about 30 minutes a day. let's see how long the second one lasts, but so far, not too impressed.unfortunately there aren't too many choices for high lumen BA15D type led bulbs, would be happy to pay for a higher quality product that lasts longer.

Cannot comment about longevity of the bulbs, but they fit the receptacles correctly and seem to be almost as bright as the 1500 lumen bulbs they replaced. Note; electronic dimmers made by Lutron as well as dimmers with built in small bulbs to light the switch in the dark WILL NOT WORK with these bulbs as there is a constant, small voltage that causes the bulbs to never go completely out. I used a Eaton mechanical dimmer (slide control, not rotary) with on/off switch that had no switch back light and it worked perfectly.Update: ordered two new bulbs because one failed (I moved the failed bulb to another outlet and it did not work there either). Only one bulb arrived due to damaged shipping box. Received replacement bulb 4 days later, however the bulb that had gone out suddenly started working again so now I have two spares.
