I checked the can, but there was not a percentage listed for the ingrediants, and protein was not "front and center"!

Q: Why the wide price variances among the various flavors (some 24-paks are around $15, other >$30)? And why wide fluctuations wk to wk in a single type

There are many different sources, not just Amazon itself. When the price is lower, it's usually shipped by Amazon. Higher prices are usually shipped from other sellers. Plus some types are becoming hard to find anywhere, even locally. At least that is my exerience.

But this brand is barely cost effective. With what is promised to happen in 2025.....I don't know if we will be able to buy it. Will the prices go up Will they become unavailable off and on? We are waiting to see but quietly experimenting with other foods.
