Great Feature-Packed Controller
For the price point, this is a great feature-packed controller board. However, that positive sentiment doesn’t extend to the level of quality control and availability of comprehensive documentation, which are practically nonexistent.I have read some complaints about this not being a true USB-controlled board, but those complaints clearly come from people who failed to read all the available information provided in the product listing, because the seller clearly communicates that the USB connectivity on this board is specifically for the purpose of powering the board.Overall, thus far, I am pleased with this purchase.

Be sure to order it with both cables.
This is a parallel port breakout board. Useless without the parallel port connection cable. It is advertised with the USB cable, so you could easily be fooled (like myself) into thinking that it was a USB breakout.I had to order another one with the right cables, afterward.

The board is different then the picture
Although they function the same, the blue board has smaller terminals on the strip, and it is more difficult to make connections as only 22 ga wire fits in easily, forget about using ferrules with the blue board, the green one is much easier to make connections. The 12-24 VDC connection should only be connected to 5 VDC as it is also the anode side through a resister bank of the input isolators. !2-24 VDC although works with contact limit switches (Mechanical) will most likely not work with optical end stops or proximity switches. That took me a while to figure out. I never found a schematic for this PCboard, but did find one that was reasonably accurate and allowed for troubleshooting the 12-24 volt lines. Works great with the UC100 USB to LPT conversion.
