Delta Industrial 46-407 Midi Inboard French Curl Tool Support

This is a heavy and meaty tool rest that provides excellent support for side and bottom turning but don't expect to get in to the bottom of deep bowls. The arms are limited in length. The steel is a little rough on the surface so if you are putting a scraper on its corner, you might catch a little nib preventing a smooth sweep. Nothing a file or sanding won't cure. I'm not a professional turner but for the price and what my expectations were, I'm good with this tool rest.

Works well but kind of awkward to work around opposing end. Quality seems well made.

I've used this quite a bit with no issue until now (08/2021). Slight catch and the rest snapped off of the post. when I say "slight catch" I mean very slight. Nothing that should have caused the head to easily snap off.Crappy pot metal._____________________________I have NOT had the breakage issues that some have had but, just like the OE tool rests on the Delta, tool edges dig into the soft metal on the rest. This makes it very difficult to move the tool smoothly across the surface.The upside is that it has a very functional shape that allows it to be used for nearly any small to mid-sized inside or outside bow or tray work. And, since the have a smooth, rounded contact surface, gouges work great.

sturdy , good size good that it has 2 different curvatures on eachend , and the center is slightly ramped upin the front for bowl hollowing . a described and good quality

I used this tool rest for the inside finishing of segmented bowls. A sudden catch with my scraper left the metal rod in parts. Delta used to be known for quality tools. They should remove their name from this one.

Already enough photos of this rest breaking at the top of the post. I purchased 2, one for myself and one for a gift. Had to call and warn my son. What can I say, this is junk and potentially dangerous! Definitely NOT recommended.

Absolutely perfect curves and exactly what I needed, was extremely excited to use this product… however… it didn’t last a full minute on the lathe and the neck snapped off. Literally less than a minute into use.

This product work as expected, no complaint about this.
