Mystic White II Sand for Above Ground and Inground Pool Filter Pumps, 50 Lb - Accessories and Supplies for Swimming Pool System Cleaning and Maintenance

I had replaced the sand in my filter twice ant the beginning of the summer after taking the whole system apart to flush it. I bought this brand as my last hope before having to purchase a new pump and quickly figured out it wasn't the pump, it was the other so called quality filter sand that was garbage! It cleared the algae bloom within 24 hours in my 6000 gallon above ground salt water pool. No more worrying about the pump burning up and it has been working very nicely with my salt water chlorinator after using this medium. I haven’t had to change the sand since putting this brand in and the pool remains sparkling clean! Seriously- spend the money to avoid the hassle of trying to correct a green or black algae bloom, it’s worth it in the long run!

I needed five bags (250 pounds) of this pool filter sand and was skeptical about shipping, especially since it was advertised as next day delivery. The price was a few dollars per bag less than my nearest big box store, which is 50 miles one-way from me. So, I decided to give this a shot and wow, it was ordered after hours on a Thursday evening and delivered to my gate by FedEx Saturday afternoon. The 50 pound bags are thick plastic with a good handle on one end and each bag was inside it's own cardboard shipping box. Everything arrived in tact with no loose sand anywhere. The filter sand that I had been using is made by one of the big cement mix companies but it seemed to have too many small granules that lodged in the laterals and it also compressed into hard clumps inside the filter. This Mystic White II sand is supposed to be screened more uniformly and the size shown on the bag is right in the middle of my filter spec range, so I'm hoping for better long-term results. I did make sure to thoroughly backwash and rinse first and a small amount of very fine silt did backwash out but it's been running on a regular filtration setting now for a couple of days and everything seems to be working normal. Looks like all seven bags that I ordered survived, however four of the boxes were badly damaged and one was pretty much just ripped open.. I did inspect the sandbags inside and they weren't punctured. Thank God..
