Make sure you put both screws in! I only put the top screw in because I rushed the instructions and it was not working consistently because the shampoo button was not working (the screw that keeps the handle on is obvious but there is another one at the bottom of the handle that you need to put in too or the button only works when really pushing the machine forward)It comes with a small bottle of concentrated shampoo so you don't need to buy one initially.

I really really like this cleaner! I'm so jazzed that it was easy to assemble, 2 screws and it was ready to fill and use. I vacuumed first, put Natures Miracle carpet shampoo in the cleaning tank, cause I had cat hair and lots of ground in dirt, and went slow and steady as I put down the cleaner and the same pulling back the cleaner to remove the dirty water. Lightweight and easy to handle too. One thing needs improvement though...dirty water tank is a little hard to clean if ya got cat or dog hair sucked up with the dirty water.

We too, had an initial problem with lack of suction during the carpet cleaning -- it is very easy to not position the suction unit exactly as designed. I found that the slightest misalignment ( which is very easy to do ) will cause water in the carpet not be sucked up .Otherwise ,a good cleaner for lighter carpet cleaning !

What I like about the product is that it is light and easy to move around the house. Dislike is that it does not clean that good. Do not plan on using on tough stains and I only had one tough stain on my carpet and it still is not clean and as far as the rest of my carpet....it don't look like I even tried to clean it, I don't know of my carpet is to thick for the product or it's just not a great product.

For the past 20 years I have had a beige pink carpet throughout my home. I had one dog for 15 years that I inherited from my son as he went off to explore the world and now I have a 9 month old puppy. I Just bought my 4th Dirt Devil rug shampooer. Pretty good for 20 years!!!!! So much cheaper then those commercial companies. I always have it on hand for any spills or accidents and of course I always have a clean looking carpet. My next door neighbor spilled red wine on an vintage orange and yellow shag area rug and you can't believe how upset he was. I said ":Don't fear I am here with my Dirt Devil". Guess what I got it all cleaned up and he proceeded to spill another glass of red wine. I told him to sit down and don't move for the rest of the night. I got that glass of wine up also and you could not tell where the stain was. I LOVE MY DIRT DEVIL AND I WILL NOT HAVE ANOTHER PRODUCT IN MY HOUSE.!!!!!Nikki Mc Sweeney

This vacuum is more of a wash for dust and hair etc. small stuff that can be picked up with water. This is excellent however for help removing dog piss or cat piss with the proper chemical as long as it a liquid form it will suck it out the rug. For the most part if your looking for a stain remover or something to take out old marks or piss stain. Im sorry this is not for you. I gave it three stars because the design is poorly made but just enough to do a little job. It’s like a water gun with a Suction whole attached to it.

So far, so bad. Not sure I'm doing it right, but I cleaned four 12x12 area rugs (soap and rinse and "suck") -- the water dispenses easily but there is no suction, no dirty water in the dirty water tank at any time. It's all in the rugs, I assume. I do have cats, and their hair is gosh-awful. We stopped many times while cleaning to clear out wet hair from the beater bar and front of the dirty water tank. Yet even when all was cleared out, still no suction. None. Trying to decide if calling customer service will help or just frustrate me further. For now, barely 2 stars.

This rug shampooer is perfect for me! I have a back problem and my legs hurt due to the problem. This shampooer is light enough I can use it no problem. It works really well. The only thing about it is the container where the dirty water goes is small so to clean my whole rug i have to empty it a few times but it cleans the rug really well.

I used it to clean rugs in heavy traffic areas. It is light enough for me to use myself and it is easy to clean and operate.

No limpia a profundidad, calidad mediocre, no lo recomiendo.

Perfect for a condo. This unit is light and easy to handle, does a very good job if your space is not large. I love it.
