Russell Hobbs 18651 Steamglide Iron

I was looking for a cheap and good iron that I could use occasionally in a location where I don't live, but I visit quite frequently. I was very happy with this iron because of the price and the quality! I have ironed many different kinds of clothes with it, and it has worked perfectly. The spraying function is very good, and I feel like there is the right amount of steam. All the clothes that I have ironed with it have definitely come out very much crease-free. The iron is also the right weight for me - not too heavy, but not too light and flimsy.

This iron was remarkable value for money in my opinion, as other irons made by well known brands retail at three times as much and more. It heats up quickly, the soleplate is smooth, it's easy and comfortable to handle and there have been no problems with it at all after nearly a year of pretty heavy usage. That's all I want from an iron really. There is no need to pay significantly more money for a cordless iron or one that produces lots of extra steam one way or another unless you specifically need those features. If you want something that does the job very effectively, then look no further than this Russell Hobbs model.

Russell Hobbs didn't disappoint on results - this iron heats up quickly, produces nice even steam, and can iron even heavy jeans well. The steam dial is a bit all-or-nothing, and the temperature dial works, but also goes well beyond the marked "min" and "max" leaving one questioning what position should be used especially on items requiring low heat! I received this just yesterday, but have already tested it on a basket full of laundry, and I have to say it performed very well indeed - far more quickly and with less effort than my previous iron, thanks to the 2400W and 90g shot of steam. It's early days, but so far I'm seriously impressed by this modestly-priced, comfortable-to-use and good-looking iron. A minor quibble would be the relatively short cord, but that can be overcome with an extension lead.

This is a nice, light iron with a very smooth plate, which just glides over the clothes. It is fine when using steam but I find it is not really hot enough for dry ironing, which is my preference. Still, it is not expensive and it does the job.
