Add us to the fans of this net. It's small enough to stow and carry easily, but large and deep enough to handle the lake fish we catch. The net itself is well made and seems strong, with holes that are big enough to let the things you're not trying to catch pass through.It's useful for more than just landing fish. Even if your hook is well-set, it's good to get it into the net. And you can lower the net into the water for a minute while someone is getting the camera ready for a picture with your catch.If you're buying a net, pay careful attention to the size of the opening and the depth of the net, to make sure it matches your needs.

It's amazing how hard it is to find a good Dip net for crabbing. I kept running into ring nets, traps, and short handles bass-like nets until I finally found out about Ed. Cumings.I bought this for my father for Christmas and it's been working great on our crabbing trips this past summer!It's light - aluminum and hollow so it can sink and the net head won't keep bobbing up (We have a wood-handle net that does this)It's long - When it collapses (telescopes in) it's kind of too short to use but good for storage. Extended, it's quite long which can be a little cumbersome at times. What we did was drill a hole in the middle of the outer pole segment so the metal nipple would pop in at an intermediate length.It's got a good head - the size of the head and the meshing are both good. There's a good amount of slack but it doesn't get caught on the rocks really at all.Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase!

Took this net out crabbing back in the beginning of August. It fits in the trunk of my suv and we caught 60 crabs that day. This net is sturdy and gets the job done. It isn't the highest quality best possible net you can buy but if youre looking for something simple, this is your net.The size of the netting is just small enough to keep grown crabs in. Babies will slip through, but we are only catching what we can eat anyways.Would recc if you are planning on doing some crabbing this summer. great net for crabbing.

I wade lake shorelines casting for walleyes. This is an ideal net! Most 14" - 19" fish I can hand land without too much difficulty, but this works well when I do get 20"+ fish. The net depth and hoop size is just the right size to make it easy to work with while standing in the water. Hooks do not get caught in the net mesh either.This replaced and old favorite net that had deteriorated to the point beyond repair. Since the size of that old net was great, I was looking to buy a replacement net for it, but found those to be as expensive as this entire net. I was glad I passed on the net replacement and went with this...I like the shape, depth, and material of this net even better than my old one. This will get ALOT of use. For under $10, this was a great find!Update 7/12/2013:I like this net so much that I just ordered another one. And so did my brother! We're getting some nice walleyes to use these on, so these are proving to be very good just as my review states.

Sometimes I am leery of really high reviews but this net is worth all five stars.I needed a strong but small net for some canoeing through the BWCA of Minnesota. No one else thought to bring a net so we passed this mighty mini from boat to boat whenever we got on fish. It saved the day! We had some 22” fish and this net was strong enough to handle feisty Pike, Walleye and SMB.I hope this helps you make an informed decision!~Mahalo

Catch a fish, and this will get it in your boat. Well made. Definitely recommend.

Perfect small size!

While this net functions as advertised, it had am annoying flaw, in that any hooks that get snarled in the net, and they frequently do, are infuriatingly difficult to remove. The first time using this net, I was forced to cut the net material to get my lure back. This net is now a wall ornament. I purchased a rubber net to replace it.It would however make a great crawfishing net.
