Great Charger for LiPo Batteries!
I bought the Thunder AC6 charger to charge my Sky LiPo 3S 11.1V batteries and havent had a problem. The unit itself is well built and works great. A couple things to keep in mind is that you do not get a Traxxas connector in the box, so you either need to buy an adapter, or change out the connector inside of your car to a Deans or some other type of connector. I went with an adapter for the Thunder.Another thing is that manual was obviously written by someone where English was not their primary language. Its not as bad as some "Engrish" manuals Ive read, but some parts can be a little difficult to understand. I found it much more useful to search YouTube for video reviews. I found a couple on there that go over the basics of setting up and using this charger. I highly recommend watching the videos if you've never used this charger before. As for the unit itself, it charges my 5000 mAh 11.1V batteries from dead to fully charged in about 80 minutes. The Thunder charger does get a little warm, but its not hot to the touch. Inside the box, you get a thermal sensor which you can connect while charging to make sure you don't overheat the battery, but in my experience, Ive never had the battery get warm during charging. Maybe this is a bigger problem with other types of batteries, but so far, both of my batteries stay cool to the touch while charging.Aside from that, what else can I say? I dont have any NiMH batteries, but this unit can charge those as well. Having a quality unit that is flexible enough to handle almost any kind of battery you would use for most RC projects, is definitely a plus. I did a lot of research before buying this unit and it is highly recommended on all sites, and even though there are other chargers out there, you wont find a better "bang for your buck". Highly Recommended!

Thunder AC6
OK....First.Ya gotta be smarter than the battery... OR the charger! Granted... I'm a newbie, and I was NOT. However, I kept doing research, via the net.NOW... I can see huge advantages to this charger, for the price! I bought it primarily for my new 182 extended trainer (the newest improved version) It has the lights, flaps, 3-blade 11 X 9 prop, and 11.1 V, 2200 mAh 3S battery, and motor to match! When I first recieved the RC plane, with it's factory battery, AND cheap charger, I wasn't impressed. BUT, after several hours of research (not that I'm now an expert), I decided on a couple of extra batteries, and a GOOD charger. This charger is PERFECT for my Li-Po 25C/2200 mAh/11.1 volt batteries, and will actually go MUCH further (above) that!! It charges them MUCH faster than the cheap-ole charger provided, and it does so with "BALANCE", also/finally it can record almost all of the different parameters! Now here is where I'm gonna get picky, and was my very FIRST negative about this product! The charger seemed to work great! BUT... I could NOT get it to communicate with my win 7 PC! I did HOURS of research and tried just about EVERYTHING! Nothing seemed to be the solution!MY charger didn't come with any software CD, I bought my charger from A-Xheli.It is the (I-Max Balanced charger)SkyCharger B6AC software (available on nitroplanes.com, OR hobbypartz.com, OR I'm sure several others that finally did it for my win 7 PC! The download INCLUDES a .txt file that has the "serial" number included! Now that I have the PC software working... I'm REALLY happy with this charger!Forget what a few others have stated in these reviews! If your NOT a huge racing expert, and do NOT need special charging abilities, I feel that it CANNOT be beat for the price!A GREAT all around charger, (once you UNDERSTAND the basics of Li-Po chargers), you will NOT find a better charger for most normal uses, at this price!I've noted several reviews that stated that they had "problems" with this charger?... Maybe I just got lucky with one that works RIGHT???? OR... maybe they didn't UNDERSTAND Li-Po's, OR maybe they expected too much for the cost???

Buy it!
I purchased this charger from Amazon a few weeks ago. Let me just say you probably don't want to use this charger at it's rated 50 watts. It gets a bit too warm at that level. Try using 40 watts for the max. Remember watts is volts times amps. I couldn't get my computer to work with the charger. Oh Well! I did install rubber feet on top of the feet that are already there to help out with cooling. You can get a whole pack of them cheap almost anywhere. I have watched this charger through many charge cycles while charging just about all types of batteries. I think it does a very good job. Just keep in mind if you want a super duper fast charger you are looking in the wrong place. A real fast charger costs much more. Fast charging also knocks the crap out of your batteries. This charger comes with many charging pigtails. You would pay more for the pigtails if you purchased them separately than you paid for the charger. This makes it a great deal in my opinion. I just have to say it again. This is a very good charger. I liked this charger so much I just pruchased a second one just like it. Just remember one thing. This goes with all chargers not just this one. Never leave a charger unwatched while charging batteries. Especially Lipo's. Always monitor battery temperature as well as charger temperature and follow the manufacturers instructions not only for the battery but the charger as well. Happy Charging!

Not bad for a cheap slow charger
It's ok for a cheap charger. I keep it as backup in case my big setup goes bad. I also use this one to discharge packs but keep a fan in it when I do. I've had the charger for a couple years or more and it still works. I've used it a lot and it's never missed a beat. It doesn't balance near as well as my icharger but it's not near the price.
