Finally a PVP-free that actually works well. Can no longer justify using the synthetic polymer based gels that wash out of your hair and accumulates in our environment. Truly don't need much and holds perfectly. Probably about the same $ per application as the less expensive synthetic stuff that requires more for the same hold.

I love how this gel is not greasy, has a fresh citrus scent and is water based. It also contains organic and natural ingredients/oils and is good for your scalp. It does not provide a real stiff hold, if that’s your desire. However, I call this the utility of gels as you can use this everyday. And I’ve noticed that my hair stairs in tact when it’s hot and humid. Some complained about flakes and other issues. Everyone’s hair and scalp is different, but I did notice a huge difference (one I never noticed before) when I bought the MGA shampoo and conditioner. I do agree that healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. My hair is no longer dry and thirsty so take some advice and analyze what you wash and condition your hair with too, not just the styling products.I’m going to order the largest bottle they make for this gel as it’s a better value. Again, my hair is wavy, curly and thick, so if this worked for me, it should be ok for you. It’s not too keen on being shiny, so, you may have to use a spritz or hairspray for more shine, but I’m a guy and not too worried about that. I find myself using a moderate amount of gel each time I use it so don’t be surprised if this goes quick as it’s water based. The seller also has a website and you can purchase directly if you desire. I tried the smoothing balm the seller makes and it was great too, but this one works better for me and has a slightly firmer hold.

This is a product we purchase on repeat. Works as described with clean ingredients.

Revision: First of all, I did get a refund and an apology for it not holding like the label suggests. However I no longer consider it to be a "dud." but upon continued use I've become happy with it's soft hold and appreciate that it doesn't turn my hair into a helmet-it does hold my hair neatly at my desk all day and looks like there's nothing in it. I also like that I can wet my hair and reset it in case it does get tussled. I also like the healthy ingredients. At first I hesitated buying it given the price, but those are some seriously beneficial and my dandruff and itching is much improved. However, the geranium and other oils, give off a strong smell that unfortunatel doesn't fade all day, so I put extra cologne on to mask it, since I prefer not to smell like an exotic entree. Finally, the tube has lasted-I'm about half way through it after I think it's been at least four months of using it 3 or 4 times a week. I plan to buy it again.

I have fine wavy/curly hair and I shampoo at night and put a dollop through on soaking wet hair and sleep in a linen towel. I wake up to bouncy curls. There is a heavy cast if I use it without sleeping on it, but that can be good too depending on your hair type. It also scores excellent on the Yuka app.

I bought this because gel usually works well on thin fine hair but this produce does not. It smelled good but weighed my hair down now matter how little I used,. And...using too little defeats the purpose of having your hair stay in place. I'd recommend this product only for those lucky enough to have lots of hair.

I have a healthy head of hair that is long, thick, fine textured and as limp as a rag and straight as a board. I ciouldn't count the number of styling products I'v used over the years trying to find something that would give it some body and shine without making it gunky, stuck together or oily. I saw this on the Skin Deep website, the purity and safety of it convinced me to give yet another product a try. SOOO glad I did. This gel is perfect for my hair. Because my hair is long I don't do a lot of sculpting or styling, all I'm aiming for is some body, control and no fly-aways, Max Green delivered all this and I'm so happy. I haven't tried it on dry hair yet but if I apply it generously on my just shampooed hair it is marvelous. I can blow it dry into a bouncy straight style or let it air dry then brush it out and curl the ends with an iron and my limp, stick to my head hair has the body and shine I've longed for. The best part is that it doesn't make my hair oily like many of the natural products do. All I can say is YEA!

I like how the product glides through wet hair but it doesn’t dry easily and has a wet look even after my hair is diffused. I’ve used for about 9mos and appreciate it’s clean product approach for my curls but the wet look just isn’t easy to deal with as a busy mom of 7. I’m switching to a product requiring less maintenance and dries quicker.
