I use the gas when I cook, but I want to teach my son to cook, and he is 9, so try to get a electric burner is more safe for him, is work ok, is heat fast but not too strong, so far is not too bad.

We often find meals getting cold before we can finish eating them. Rather than going into the kitchen again to reheat them in the microwave, I decided it would be great if we found a thin food warmer to put our plates on while we eat. We couldn't find a thin enough one, so I opted for this inexpensive hotplate. It is too thick to put our plates on while we ate, but we have it on the table next to us, so we can place a plate on it to rewarm. This is especially good for pizza, but it works with other meals, too. We found a setting that warms the plate (without breaking it).

NOT SO GOOD PRODUCT - I gave 2-star rating because this hot plate is not a perfect one. I purchased for cooking at home. It works for some level. Now after 2 years of use- it dead and not working. There some issues below and potential buyers should be aware of before buying.FLAWS:(1) It cooks very slow. It takes long time to get hot high level.(2) This hot plate is only for single person who want to cook a small bowl of food.(3) It can not cook a large bowl of food for a family or a group of people.(4) The circular control handle knob quickly wear down and started to slip when I turn to increase/decrease temperature. Finally, the control knob become loose and no effect when I turn up or down.This is not a junk product but this not also a good product.Think twice before buying,
