Nothing seems to dull it.
I also wrote a review on Greenlee's shorter auger and I'll just repeat some of it here. This bit is tough. I know it's designed to chew through steel nails but I pushed it much harder than that, and it survived. I used it to drill out a wooden 4X4 post embedded in concrete. As I drilled, I repeatedly hit the sides and tip of the bit into the concrete. The surprise came when I examined the bit after this abuse only to find .....nothing. The bit was as sharp as new. No damage whatsoever. Even the screw tip was unscathed. Now I'm not saying it should be used in place of a true concrete bit. That would be silly. But if you need a rough-tough auger, then Greenlee is the way to go.

Great product.
I have used Greenlee Electrical products for over 50 years and never ever had a bad product from them. They are a bit more money than some brands and worth every cent of it !

I dont' know what to think of this bit as of now so I can only give it a 3-star at best as I only felt good about drilling that one ...
I bought it to drill holes in tree stumps to burn them out. It got stuck in the stump and I had to use an impact wrench to get it out although I was drilling it in with a really heavy duty Milwaukee electric drill. I thought I was going to snap it off with the drill so went with the impact and slowly tapped it out. I dont' know what to think of this bit as of now so I can only give it a 3-star at best as I only felt good about drilling that one hole.

Finest quality drill bit.
I've used this bit to drill deep holes in a fresh tree stump. It really got the job done. You'll need a good quality and powerful 1/2" drill to drive this bit. Also, be cognoscente of heat buildup. I highly recommend this product.

16inche depth well made.
Used for building a log cabin. It seems to be holding up quite well after dozens of holes bored for wood dowling to join the logs together.

Best on the market, cant go wrong with these.
Its a greenlee nail eater.. best auger bit they make. nuff said. I bought this one to replace one that had been used almost daily for 2 years without sharpening. Theyre awesome, and you can hit nails with them and the bit will survive, but they last a lot longer if you avoid the nails

Beautiful tool. The price was stupendous
Beautiful tool. The price was stupendous, though it went up a lot after I bought the last one. Made In USA quality for less than Chinese price. Now I hope I won't break my arm when this grabs and the torque on my drill goes to work. Actually cut so well and didn't grab at all like I though it might, wonderful product.

Wonderful made in USA tool
Wonderful made in USA tool, with a wonderful cheap Chinese price. Stumbled on this as a last one get it out the door deal. Probably would pay the Amazon regular price if I needed one. Excellent quality. Amazon's packaging was a joke, they could have shipped fifty of these in that box.
