I purchased this survival gear kit for my husband. We often go hiking and I could see how many useful tools there were in this compact kit. He was thrilled with it. The kit includes a compass, survival "blanket," wire saw, tiny flashlight, and several other survival "necessities" that are perfect for situations such as getting lost in the woods or when the "apocalypse" hits! Easy to carry in a backpack or to stash in your car.

Bought as a gift, they thought it was a good item to have as a hunting/ fishing back up.

Some items are ok but the knife broke in less than a week. The rivot holding the blade fell out, making the knife junk. The other items are OK, so far.

Just opened this item to make sure everything was working and put batteries in the flashlight before gifting to my son, and the mini key chain light is broken, and the rape whistle string was fraying and i had to fix it! Kinda upset by it but I guess it will work for a little starter kit for my son.

So the kit is pretty useful and the only bad thing is the knife while it is sharp enough to cut the locking mechanism isn't trustworthy at all and will fold on your hand if not careful besides that the firestarter will start fires and the rest of the kit is well enough that I will keep it on my when I go out camping. It was well worth the money as i didn't have anything like this that fit into a convenient pouch.

This is great for Bug Out bags(for emergency use) . Very durable. Very lightweight.

This is my first survival kit and Im happy to say that its everything I think I would need. It has all your basics included.I personally find it hard to get lost in new England but Im sure its possible. When we travel up north though it can become easier and easier to get lost and I think that its important to have a survival kit like this in everyone's car. On top of that put in a life straw of some kind for drinking purposes and you have a solid kit.What I liked about this is the box it came in with was solid!! That's a nice plus because you know that it's going to keep the contents somewhat safe.You can read above all the details of the kit so I won't bore you with that.I found the knife sharp, the fire starter working right, the compass was accurate according to my phone compass, the light was bright enough for basic use, the whistle works loud and the multi-tool looks like its good to have. The blanket sounds like a good idea but I hope to never have to use that.Bottle holder was a first for me and it looks neat for sure.The mini saw I can see being used for little timber cuts. a pair of gloves might be nice to have with it as well.Lastly the pointed pen looks like it can be a good weapon but I haven't used it yet.I found that the light is nice at a wide beam and when your narrow it you can make out the shape of the diode. First time I've seen that. Not a big deal but probably tells you how cheap it is. Though the light is solid metal and works pretty well.Overall Its a pretty good kit! :) Im really happy to have it sitting in my car just in case.
