The thread came stripped so one of them was not even useable. The finish was badly done as well and just overall quality control of this item is nonexistent

These work great. They come with the tightening bolt attached to the top of the extender but they should go on the mirror stems. Other than that little tip, easy to install.

UPDATE: I readjusted the mirrors and now it looks great. It has a sleek design. When I was done, it looked like the left mirror was much higher than the right. It was difficult for me to get them installed properly so I could actually see behind me. This is what I came up with, but I haven't taken the bike for a ride yet to confirm. Maybe it'll be better if I flip the mirrors now. I was having a really hard time seeing when the mirrors were flipped with just the stock mirrors. Maybe these risers will remedy that problem.

2015 Fat Bob w/ stock hand controls and bar mounted turn signals. Functionally, these do what they're supposed to do. I didn't have the sloppy threads that a lot of other folks seemed to have had, and I got the right side installed just fine. The left side though, due to the stacked thickness of the stuff involved, the threads on the base of this extension just isn't long enough. Only about one thread is extended through everything and that's just not enough for the nut. It's 1-3/8"... should have been at least 1.5... ideally 1-5/8" though. So... it's not really, truly a ding against the product itself, but the specific dimensions could be listed in the listing. Had they been there I absolutely would have measured it all out first. But hey, it's inexpensive and low risk so just bought em anyway. The one I did installed on the right is awesome though... gives me MUUUUUCH better visibility directly behind me.

I tried several ways to get these extenders to work properly, could not get them to screw into the mirror enough to cover the threads, once I finally found a way to get it to work, with threads showing, while traveling down the road the mirrors came loose (yes I used lock tight) and I could not get them to stay in place. Purchased a different set from my dealer that work the way they are supposed to.

Works great, vision greatly enhanced. Would give 5 stars IF they worked out of the box. Like many other reviews stated you will need to run & tap & die though & over them. 5/16-24 is the size you need. The threads are garbage from the factory but if you own an XL1200XS these will get it so you can see something other than your own shoulders. No instructions but its pretty easy to understand how these are supposed to work. Make sure you use some blue thread locker compound.
