Harbor Digital XT-A26 XT Flash Extender Kit for Nikon SB-900, SB-910 Flashes

It's not a bad product but the price is too high for the materials it is made from. However it is very light weight, attaches as advertised and will focus light beyond your standard strobe. Would I recommend for birding? If you subject is close but not more than 50 feet. More testing is needed to get better evaluation.

I received my Harbor Digital flash extender as promised for my Nikon SB910 flash. I have one for my SB800, but that one doesn't fit the SB910 so I actually ordered a Better Beamer (to hopefully save on portability) but wasn't at all happy with the results from the BB. I orderded the HD and can't say enough positive things about its performance!

Takes up more room than the better Beamer and is no better, if as good. Suggest the better Beamer instead.

Great fit. I upgraded from a SB-600 to the 910 and I like the way it actually grabs onto the flash head.

It seemed cheap and bulky...I through it away.

I'm surprised at the negative reviews of this product. I have both the Harbor Digital and the Better Beamer extenders. I prefer the Harbor Digital model.The fresnel lens on this product is the same as the lens on the Better Beamer. The difference is in the holder.Pros:The key benefit is the Harbor Digital is more compact on the flash. The design keeps the center of balance near the flash unit and eliminates "sag". This makes this design more accurate in centering the flash on the subject. I have to use a business card as a shim with the Better Beamer. This product is accurate without any adjustment and fits nicely with no movement.The flash extender does a good job in doubling the effective power and reach of your flashMy SB-910 has a range of nearly 200 yards providing a light fill and a catchlight for bird photographyCons:Bulkier in your pack - this item does not collapse so it takes the same amount of space as a Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 lens. That's a lot bulkier than the Better Beamer.I prefer the Harbor Digital version to the Better Beamer.
