Developed in collaboration with team sky, the Kask protone road helmet is super-lightweight, highly ventilated and aerodynamic, plus its skull-hugging, low-profile design feels like it was specially Fitted for your head. It's been wind-tunnel tested to maintain streamlined performance and ventilation in virtually any riding position; even if you move your head, it'll remain consistent. It's also been designed using computational fluid dynamics software to attain one of the lowest drag coefficients of any ventilated helmet.

Saved my life. Riding 20-21 mph on bike path ...
Saved my life. Riding 20-21 mph on bike path at Hilton Head Island in January...all of of sudden my bike stopped and I went over the bars and landed on my forehead (helmet). Helmet is toast, but I'm not. Of course my left arm broke and the bone exited the tricep. I'm looking at another year of therapy for full recovery, but the helmet saved my life. Thanks Kask. Eventually, I will reorder when able to ride again.BTW, it was discovered that a squirrel had darted out of a bush into my rear wheel and got caught between spokes and seat stays...My wife is in an all out war against squirrels. Don't worry animal lovers. She only wants them gone, but won't do anything about it.Mike D.

I had a bad crash, this helmet maybe saved my life
If you are buying a helmet for safety purposes, I can vouch for this Kask helmet. I always rode with a cheaper helmet, in spite of riding a lot and doing some really long rides. However, I came across this helmet when reading an article on helmet safety and this being one of the best values for your dollar and pulled the trigger a couple months ago.On July 25th I was doing my 2nd RAMROD (Ride Around Mt. Rainier One Day) in Washington state, a 155 mile ride with almost 10K feet of elevation. I was about 148 miles in (only 7 miles left) when tragedy struck. I’d been riding for over 9 hours (total time about 11 hours including breaks) and must have let my guard down for a second. After being on high alert during strenuous climbs, fast descents, and highway miles we were on a stretch of road with no traffic and our group spread out across the road in taking a break from the intensity of the day. We were on a slight downhill and going through sun/shade/sun/shade making the road tricky to see. I turned to speak to someone and in the 1 second my eyes were off the road I hit a nasty pothole sending me flying over the handlebars. I landed on the left side of my helmet and left shoulder and proceeded to bounce roll and slide until coming to a stop. The final result was a mild concussion, a fractured scapula, ribs 1-5 fractured posterior (backside) and 4-6 fractured on the front (6 fractured ribs total, 2 of them fractured front and back. Fracturing your first rib is hard to do (Google it) meaning the blunt force I landed on my head and shoulder was beyond significant. As long as the recovery is, I’m thankful that I bought this helmet and it wasn’t worse than it was. If you’re buying this helmet for safety reasons then you are in good hands based on my experience. The pictures are the helmet after the crash (amazing head damage to me was not worse!), and at Inspiration Point about 78 miles into the ride - when I’m still smiling and the helmet is not yet damaged :).

I Never Knew..
I've been riding bikes for years and helmets were just something I bought to be "safe". Thing is, I wasn't safe. There's no way my previous helmets would have stayed on my head to protect me. They were ill fitting; I just assumed all helmets were that way. When trying this helmet on I thought I bought the wrong size. After a couple minutes of adjusting I experienced how a bike helmet should fit. Unlike my other helmets this one slips on and doesn't move. It fits my head perfectly, it's comfortable and it's looks like a million bucks.Luckily I haven't had any bad accidents. Take care of your head with this helmet!

Fit, Fit, Fit
This is, without a doubt, the best fitting, best looking, lightest weight, and coolest helmet for road bike riding that I have ever owned. Ohh, I should also mention that it is also the most expensive helmet for road bike riding that I have ever owned :-\ I purchased my Protone in the Navy Blue and White color. Beautiful! All the design elements that Kask has put into this helmet make it feel like it is attached to your skull. It does not float on top of your head like so many other helmets I have owned. Instead, the Protone fit provides full contact and, to me, that means improved safety and security. Add in comfort from the best strapping system / materials I have ever seen, along with super ventilation, and I think you will get a sense of why I love this helmet so much. Highly recommended.

LAS helmets were the most comfortable helmets I ever owned
LAS helmets were the most comfortable helmets I ever owned, and I looked long and hard for a new LAS victory - and anything else - that would meet the previous gold standard. I couldn't find a LAS I liked, and as usual nothing else seemed comfortable enough to wear for metric centuries or 70.3 Ironman rides. So I took a chance and ordered this KASK without having the opportunity to try it on first.Getting the bad out of the way first, some of the little grey cushion inserts in the adjustable back part of the fit mechanism tend to come off unless you are careful - my first version had to be returned because one of these 2mm wide cushions was not on the helmet! And the second minor complaint - the synthetic material chin strap was not perfectly comfortable to someone used to the removable foam backed microfiber chin comfort cushion of the LAS (but I just took the chin strap cushion off the old LAS and added it to this helmet - problem solved. And the rear neck retention needs to be released before removal and retightened when putting the helmet on.The good - pretty damn great! Light weight, very comfortable, very well ventilated even in 85 - 90 degree riding, and doesn't look like a mushroom! The rear neck strap adjusts for height, tightness, and even for the lateral positioning of the two cushion pads. Brilliant fit. Overall, just possibly slightly less comfortable than the LAS, but hard to prove - put it on and it disappears as far as your head is concerned - but is very visible to everyone else!. And looks shouldn't matter, but it IS a nice looking helmet (My star wars fan grandkids think it looks like an Imperial Storm Trooper helmet !!??).I am really happy with this Protone KASK helmet, my new favorite.
