Bah Koo: A Bedtime Story

Bah Koo is a story about an 'alien monster' who is teased by all of his animal friends for being different. One day he becomes very sad and runs away from home. He meets a little boy who takes him in and loves him. One night the little boy has a terrible nightmare and Bah Koo discovers that he can 'change' himself to fight for the ones he loves. He grows larger, has fangs and sharp claws, and he attacks and swallows the boys bad dreams!I received Bah Koo as a gift in the 80s when I was a young child who suffered from bad nightmares (I am now 32 years old). I remember at first that I was frightened by Bah Koo because he was different. After reading the story with my parents and discussing it I realized that Bah Koo was there to help me and that there was nothing to be scared of. There are some scary pictures in this book (see my photo) so I wouldn't recommend this to very young children, but for older children who suffer from nightmares it is perfect!Some reviews have claimed that they received only the book from Amazon so be careful when ordering, as the stuffed Bah Koo is really what makes this so great. Bah Koo sat on my bed for years to fight off my nightmares and that was so comforting to me as a child. He now sits on a shelf awaiting the day when my daughter is old enough to need him.

This was my daughter favorite book when she was little and I wanted to read it to my granddaughters which she loved

I'm so glad I looked on Amazon for this book. My daughter is 27 now & this bookhas long been gone, but not forgotten. I have been searching for this for many yearsIt was the only thing that calmed her enough to go to sleep after a bad dream. I would stronglyrecommend this to anyone with a little one having nightmares.

The delivery was quick and the condition of the book was excellent however, it was titled, "Bah Koo Book & Plushie" and I never received the plushie stuffed animal.

I was so happy to get the same book my children had when they grew up! I gave this as a baby shower present. I was very pleased with my purchase!

My grandfather gave me my Bah koo in the early 80s, I have no idea how old I was but I remember it was at Christmas.I'm 28 now and Bah Koo is moved from DC to Vermont with me, back to DC for college and then to Boston for grad school.Currently, he's living in my closet to protect him from my stuffed animal loving dogs. His book is in my classroom.He's worn and a little messy looking, but he's still my most prized posession. He helped me so much as a child getting through my nightmares.Now I'm looking for one I can give to a student of mine who suffers terribly from nightmares.Bah Koo really is the greatest thing, I can't believe that aside from online, I've never been able to find another one.I can't imagine how my grandfather found him.
