Kestrel is widely recognized by the industry as the first brand to produce a carbon framed road bike. That design and production head start continues to create frames with superb ride quality. Every Kestrel design is proprietary and engineered from scratch in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The process begins with computer-aided design and analysis. Once the modeling is over, Kestrel builds structural prototypes and submits them to a battery of laboratory tests, miles of riding under both sponsored athletes and the highly knowledgeable engineers themselves. The Legend frameset is the result of this process, and it's executed with a high degree of engineering mastery.

The Legend SL is made from 800k high modulus carbon fiber. Kestrel's lightest carbon construction available. Kestrel's 800K carbon uses inner polyurethane molds in high-stress areas such as the BB shell and head tube to minimize wrinkles in the carbon layers for greater compaction and stiffness to ensure the lightest and strongest frame possible. The Legend fork uses an EPS foam mold to smooth and compact the carbon fibers -- similar to the 800K carbon -- to reduce weight yet increase rigidity, particularly in the fork crown. Its frame geometry is aggressive, with a low head tube and internal cable routing for improved aerodynamics; and the tapered head tube enhances lateral stiffness for excellent steering precision. It's designed to be stiff and efficient, agile, aggressive, while still being comfortable ride.

The Legend SL is equipped with the highly refined and ultra-powerful SRAM RED eTap 11-speed drivetrain, the world's first completely wireless electronic groupset. A mid-compact 52/36T crankset and SRAM RED 22, 11-28T cassette provides the perfect range to mash out a sprint, grind out a climb, or ride tempo.

The build is completed with a ZIPP service Course SL stem and handlebar, ACROS headset, and a ZIPP 202 Firecrest wheelset with ZI
