It works even after heat stressed grass
Unusual global climate heat destroyed my one year old lawn which was incredibly lush despite its young age because I manicured it well. Unbelievably, we took a five day trip and came back to a completely destroyed grass. We have sod up front with exposure to sun for about 15 hours a day (spring summer) and about 13 hours (fall/winter) based on how our house is situated. Water did not do the trick but it helps so once the climate heat broke, the grass can have a chance. Grass takes patience. Be patient and consistent. After four weeks of heat wave, we used hydratein. In addition to hydratein, the next day we used a mix of four tsp dish soap to a gallon of water for five minutes each section. The first application I just mentioned was done literally on a rainy day. My neighbors thought we were crazy. Six days later with one additional over night rain day and early morning watering right before sun rise, the recovery was extremely evident. The soil was looser and able to retain. Our fear in adding the soap water solution was disease from too much moisture but we survived. Retention def woke my grass up out of dormancy. Some spots went dormant due to the intense heat. Now that it’s awakening, we sprinkled granulated of epsom salt for magnesium to the loose soil. Watered it in with a spray hose consisting of a shot of it an and two shots of humid acid to get some nutrients to the roots. Were confident that this process will be successful due to this products application. We have cold weather tall fescue grass along with one section of tall fescue/bluegrass sod from a local farm. We are Northeast USA. Hope this helps someone.

Seems to work as I've had to water less and the lawn looks great.
Can't say why this works but we've had no rain this summer and after I applied this product I've only watered once a week instead of my normal ever other day and the lawn looks great. I have an irrigation system and it costs about $20 each time I water my lawn. Using Hydretain I only need to water once a week. Over the summer months using this product is a real savings. Again, I don't know how it works but it works.

Ending the summer thick and green
My lawn fried every year since I moved into this house 13 years ago.... except this year. Admittedly, I've done a few things differently this year with Hydretain being one of them. I sprayed Hydretain twice (June and August), sprayed N-Ext humic acid monthly, and raised the deck on my lawnmower to 4 inches. I also proactively treated for insects (May) and treated a fungus issue (June and July). So, while I can't guarantee that Hydretain played a big role, I will definitely use it again next year.My lawn has never been thicker coming out of the summer. If you are reading this and wondering what the best bang for the buck is, I'd say that raising the height of your mower deck is #1. Taller turf retains much more water. It also chokes out weeds.

Works!
Received shipment fast and in good condition. Sprayer is easy to use, noticed a difference in my watering habits so far this summer, brown spots have disappeared or haven’t grown over some very hot and dry days when last summer there was a lot of extra watering. Plan to use more often. Helps to have good soil to start with.

Sprayer was broken and did not work.
When I received the product the shipping container was in good shape and there was one air shipping bag that had no air in it. I opened the package and removed the container plastic wrapping. I connected it to the hose and it would not suck out the sprayer container contents. I took the sprayer assembly apart and did everything I could to test it and make it work. I thought it was stopped up but it wasn't. Later, I found some small white plastic parts from the back of the little venturi trough that had broken off in the plastic shipping wrapper. I had an old sprayer and it worked so I changed the liquid from one sprayer to the other. Suggest you find a different sprayer system.

It leaked but it's fine. Comes out fast
I got a bottle that leaked a little. I think it's the design of the valve. Not much to complain about and the shippinh carrier wrapped the box in a bag. I don't think I really lost much of anything. These bottles are said to leak when storing anyways. I would suggest a seal on the bottle before the valve to prevent it on shipping. Again not really a deal breaker for me.This stuff no doubt comes out fast. My fungicide is said to come out fast so I did a few practice walks and went at it but ended up doing double app still. The bottle says up to 5k square ft. If you measure and make marks on the side of the bottle you have 5 inches worth of liquid. I made marks every inch to tell how much to use. I used it on a 2k patch in the front. About a quarter through I had already put down 1 inch. Oops. It's not going to hurt but your just getting away from doing a second app later and saving some money. I said screw it and justified it with the record highs this summer. I'll say definitely go faster on this one than any other hose end sprayer your used to.And make sure to water it in well. I like that they say to water the grass first because you do t want the stuff to dry on the grass. You want to water the dirt. It gives you some time before you water it in afterwards. No telling the benefits of using this stuff just yet but the following behind it makes me confident I didn't waste money keeping my lawn green through this upcoming Texas tripple digit weather.
