47-inch (120cm) Tunisian Crochet Hooks Set with Cable, 12 US Sizes from E to O (3.5-12mm) - Perfect for Baby Afghan Blankets

I bought this set because it was inexpensive and I wanted to learn how Tunisian Crochet. There are times the hook gets stuck so i just grab some fine sandpaper and fix it. Thats why I took a star off for ease of use. I also noticed they had a terrible smell for a couple weeks but it has since dissipated and I no longer smell it on any of the hooks. Overall great product for a beginner!

Great for the price. I don’t do a lot of Tunisian crochet so I didn’t want to make a large investment. The hook is awkwardly shaped and too short, but still usable with patience. The cable is overly flimsy, but a nice length. Very bad plastic smell upon opening, seems to be fading quickly though. Overall, definitely gets the job done and worth the low price.

She is new to Tunisian Knitting. Worked well for the Birthday Blanket (40inches wide) she made me. Wife said they are easy to use and easy to learn with.

I’ve been crocheting for over 12 years and have found some really good hooks to use I thought these would be really nice for some of the blankets and afghans I like to make and to try some new hooks to see if there’s any better that work amazing and are a good price. How we these don’t make the list of hooks that I’ll keep for backups. I wouldn’t ever recommend these hooks for anyone. Not even beginners.These afghan hooks are not worth the money. The plastic is difficult to move the yarn on and the yarn catches on the hooks. It is also very hard to see the size of the hooks cause they are engraved on the hook. You do have to looks very very close to see them. The knob at the end of one of the plastic cables was detached and not in good shape. Please do t waste your money on these hooks. They are not worth it.

What it says on the tin - the hooks' grooves aren't deep enough so they don't hold the yarn as securely as they should when pulling through loops. They're not unusable, but it's definitely frustrating. The length and variety are great for Tunisian crochet so they won't entirely go to waste for me, but I wish I'd splurged on a better quality set. Also the plastic smells faintly like rotting garbage, so that's not the best.

I have to amend this review: when I was halfway through my Afghan - the cable broke and I cannot finish it. I ordered an individual “L” hook through Lion Brand to finish it! So disappointing.Excellent product, smooth, easily glides through the yarn, light weight, and more importantly, has a depression for the thumb! It’s more comfortable to use than the other Tunisian hooks I have, and I’m looking forward to all the other projects in the near future. I just started this Afghan today after I got my hooks! NOTE 3/25: attached is the new blanket I’m working on. These hooks are a pleasure to work with.

The smaller hooks snap even with light use, the larger hooks are fine but the cable extensions come off. Invest in a better quality set.
