Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition (PS4)

Delivered on time and wow took me back to the good ti. times when I first played it on PC, the graphics are really enhanced and overall my only issue with it is that getting used to the controls was frustrating however top quality game that has brought back some fond memories 😁

I had the original Diamond edition back in the day and I also have the Beamdog version for my laptop now. I fancied a go on PS4 and the price was right. I didn’t bother with reviews because I know this game inside and out. What could go wrong? Well, it turns out a lot can. Fundamentally the game is unplayable due to game breaking bugs. For example, I selected one character and when the game started, I was playing as another character all together. That has happened a few times, but not all. I have no idea what is causing it. The only option is to quit and try again. Add to that a pretty rough, very clumsy (but workable) control scheme, a surprisingly low frame rate for such an old game, and an audio mix that is in need of rebalancing for modern audio hardware and you get an unpleasant experience. The fonts looks bad and the scaled up interface is kinda glitchy. To top it off, it crashes to the Home Screen from time to time. It feels like an incomplete development build. The degree to which it is broken truly beggars belief. Avoid this version at all costs.

Surviving the lockdown with a hefty dose of PlayStation, alcohol, nostalgia, television, and sex. This ticks two boxes at least, best I can hope for given my better half is locked down in a different country and my liver is none too spiffing at the best of times. It’s old school NWN, pretty much as I remembered it from the pc many years ago. That’s great, unless you’re expecting a dragon age or divinity 2 level of sophistication. NWN is one of those games that has been surpassed many times, but which laid the foundations for so many that game after. The story is good, the limitations are more apparent given it’s age, but it’s still a game every RPG fan should play to completion at least once. Not encountered any of the crashing problems various reviews refer to, all in all its running pretty well and I’m about 10 hours in to the main campaign. Yep, it shows it’s age a lot but it’s still a good play and enjoyable game. Exactly what I hoped it’d be, the same game that ate many hours of my time years ago and was my first foray into online coop play. Definitely get it, but understand you’re getting something retro and old school.

I loved this game and lost hours to it when it first came out on PC but this console port (PS4) is not a good one. The game for me hasn't aged as well as older RPG's like Baldur's Gate but this may be personal opinion as I find most early 3D games graphically age very quickly/badly. The controls were awkward enough that I gave up playing having only completed the prologue. A trip down memory lane I wish I hadn't paid for.

A xmas gift to me from my parents. Based on the D&D world and gaming system, you can pick to play any race and any class. It is easy to learn how to play and there are several campaigns you can do. It has kept me entertained for many hours and so it is good value for money. If you like D&D games, this is well worth a go.

Just like I remember. Still really love Neverwinter nights.

Poorly annoying last battle frustrating no warnings for entering last level you cannot rest, needed for a mage cannot use recall stone needed for everybody else. Level up for your characters is inadequate equipment weapons suck the map is terrible how people rate this as a great game is beyond me. Star wars kotor is way way better than this garbage wish they re-released that instead of this piece of foul stinking of you know what. The game also suffered with crashes and the odd glitches as well so unfortunately another d&d game that is a big let down.

I like the range of character options offered by the games. I find using the menus a little a bit problematic especially when in combat and the quick menu options very limited especially when playing a magic using character when selecting spells.

People all over the internet are complaining about the graphics of this, but I don't know why. I didn't buy it expecting to see Dark Souls 3 graphics from a remastered 2002 game, personally. Someone on here said that the game cannot be played online cause it was not meant to be sold in the US, but I can't verify that since I don't have PSN. All in all though, it seems great so far. I'm only at the beginning, but I actually like playing it with the joystick. I never got to play on PC, but my friend had it in mide school and I watched him a bit. The game has a very Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance feel, only with not as good of graphics and a combat system for relatable to Dragon Age: Origins. The only thing so far that I really don't like is that the color for the highlighted text when you are trying to select a dialogue is this very light yellow that if very difficult to distinguish from the unselected options in white.

Tout en anglais que je ne maitrise pas, et semble-t'il impossible d'avoir au moins un sous-titrage en français. Donc je ne peux pas jouer.

Game was new and unopened. Case was broken on the bottom rear. 4.5 stars.
