Harman, Harmon, Harmen Igniter Hot Rod Starter Element 3-20-677200 3-20-06783

I ordered it because it was a Harmon replacement. When it arrived I matched the fin section to the one I was replacing but didn't pay attention to the coating on the wires. The heavier white coating ended and the thin black coated wire continued to the plug. Since it was listed as a 'Harmon' product I wrongly assumed that it would work fine. The black part of the wire extended out of the firebox area, so I thought it was safe from the heat. WRONG!The day after I installed it I was enjoying the warmth from the stove when I heard the fuse blow in the stove. I took the igniter out and found that the coating on the black wires had melted in two places and had shorted out.I was not impressed by the design and would not recommend this to anyone.

Worked great for 2 months, then the wires broke and caused a short. Now I need a new fuse and igniter.

Wires came apart when taken out of package . Had to splice wires to make furnace run and the furnace went down again last night . Have not had time to check yet but suspect the igniter at fault .

Wires not covered with fireproof material...ours melted immediately. Caused stove to blow fuse again! Do not recommend.
