Make these your first watercolors!!!
These are the whole beginner shebang!! I waited for awhile on these, getting better WC's for better results.... but these are the perfect creaminess, sheerness and brightness for playing with watercolor flow!! I thought they were more like novelty, but no, these are essential! Start here for your "cheap paints" and have a ton of fun, no matter what level you're at!! They really pop on Baohong's cold press paper and glaze well in general on a variety of papers I tried them on. They have granulation and texture... I'm so delighted!! I love the full size pans for my dagger brushes too. I wish there were emoji's in the reviews to capture my enthusiasm!! *The neon green was the only non-creamy/hard to pick up paint. But I already have the Paul Rubens neon, so I'm good on that. Also, I pulled the hinges out a bit, so I could disconnect the two and put top lid underneath the bottom, to conserve space. It works like I want it too!! (Will add photos someday when have a better phone!) These are my happy paints!! :-)

Excellent metallics
I already owned the Kuretake "Starry Colors" set when I ordered this one...and honestly only ordered this Komorebi set because I caught it on sale and because it has a broader range of colors than the name brand set I already own and love. I didn't have very high expectations from what I judged to be perhaps a generic knock-off product.Actually, these paints are very very similar to the name brand product. They are full pans!! Pans are removable from the cardboard packaging if you want to put them into your own palette box. The paints themselves perform almost identically to the Kuretake paints. There is one gold in the Kuretake that is just hands down the best, most vivid and beautiful metallic watercolor gold out of the 2 dozen or so competitors I have personally tried, and it might be worth it to buy that set just for that particular paint; however, that set only contains 5 shades of gold and one white. If you are ok with just gold and white, the Kuretake paints are slightly better quality, but the differences are almost negligible. The Komorebi paints, which I am reviewing do contain a good gold, and have a much better range of metallic colors (not limited to just gold). So bottom line, if you want a superb set with several various metallic colors, then definitely buy this set. You won't be disappointed. These are much better than any store brand or any other generic watercolor paint I have tried. The paints lay down smooth, not clumpy nor chalky. They're exactly as they should be, and really amazing quality and amount of paint for this price!! These are actually better quality than some name brand metallics that cost more, but difficult to really compare sets with dozens of colors to this one that only has 6.This is a very budget friendly set, especially considering that they are full pan sized paints. They're very versatile in how you can use them: watercolor painting--obviously--but also can use them to apply truly brilliant effects in coloring book images that you can't get with metallic pencils. These can also be splattered onto mixed media, home made cards, or scrapbook layouts etc to give a unique, abstract shimmering accent.

The pigments are very saturated and look vibrant and translucency when dry
For being my first watercolor set I would like to say that I enjoyed it very much. The watercolors by themselves have vibrant colors very well pigmented they bleed and mix in a satisfying way.The sheets for my understanding they do the job but I feel they can be better quality as the same for the brushes they are okay.... But not the best.Last, the palette does the job but also there's a lot of room for improvement. For all those things I give this set a 4 Star, as just for the watercolors they deserve 5.My piece of advice, just get the watercolors only and bit the set. Here I post a picture of my first painting 😃

Nice kit, but the paper is marginal at best.
5 stars for the paint.4 for the brushes and palette.2 for the paper if you use it wet on wet, 3.5 if wet on dry.The paints are beautiful and richly pigmented and a joy to use.Nice kit, but the paper is marginal at best, and very frustrating to use if you paint wet on wet, as it severely buckles when it's wet. If you wet both sides, it's a little less, however be prepared to be frustrated if you paint wet on wet. I suspect it is a cheap cellulose paper. The brushes are fairly good and the pellet is nice as well.

IMO, these watercolours are INCREDIBLE !!!
I mainly use water colours when doing traditional art, so I’ve tried pretty hard to find actually good metallic paints, but these colours pass the mark !!! They blend well, you can mix them with other colours to create coloured shimmers, and it’s easy to get different opacities by adding more water just like with regular pigments. I 100% recommend these, I was genuinely distraught when I noticed I’d lost my pallet and immediately ordered a new one. The one I had precisely I bought years ago and almost all the pans were still full so they definitely last a good while !! I also love that the tins are removable so it’s easy to make sure the colours aren’t mixing and getting messy !
