The Best Solution For Swapping Out Vintage Mics
So I have a large collection of vintage microphones from the late 30s through the early 80s. What do these things all have in common? They're designed to be screwed directly on to a mic stand which makes swapping them out somewhat tedious. In addition, many times the proximity to the stand mount socket and the cable connector make it hard to position without problems. However, with a handful of these Quik-Release adapters, swapping out is insanely easy. These little things are sturdy, they're attractive, and best of all they WORK. They also give that extra bit of riser space so that the cable doesn't conflict with the stand or a boom arm which is AWESOME. So yeah, if you have a vintage mic (or one of those modern vintage mic repros) this is what you need.

Makes my studio life a wee bit easier
I love the OnStage mic quick release and own a half dozen, leaving them mounted on all my mic stands and mic clips. I can be ready to record in a few seconds rather than a few minutes. Build quality is excellent with brass components and sturdy construction. The main caution is you must be careful to align correctly so the spring loaded lock engages. Otherwise you mic will hit the deck with a little bump. It's very secure with normal use , i.e., won't fall off with little bumps and position adjustments. However, do not attempt to lift a mic stand via the mic or clip as the weight of a heavy stand will cause the release to, well, release. Probably not a good device for live performances since many vocalists will forget to lock it down properly in the heat of a performance. Finally, all the QK2B I bought during the last 3 years are fully compatible, i.e., I can mix the male and female parts and they fit precisely.

On-Stage Quik-Release BEST quick release - I will die on this hill.
I love these. I've been using them since the late 90's and they are fantastic. Are there others? For sure. Are they better? Maybe. Are they priced as well as these and super reliable always? I say no... My ONLY gripe with these is that I need the female part of the clip at about a 5 to 1 ratio as much as I need the male part. I have way more microphones than I have stands, and I love to swap mics out. The good news is that you can buy the female part directly from On-Stage at their website. The bad part is they're kinda hidden and you really have to look for them and you can ONLY get them there as far as I know. On-Stage needs to sell this in a package with 1 male part and 3-5 female parts, or at least advertise them. Functionally amazing, logistically hard to find sometimes. And I like the black better than the chrome.

Tried & true.
I’ve been using these for at least 20 years. They are solid and hold strong. The convenience of being able to swap out clips and shock mounts quickly is great, especially when in “time is money situations”. I recommend the chrome, the black ones are fine but the paint scrapes off easily and they start looking shabby. I’ve only had to replace 2 in all these years due to the button release sticking. I have around 15 of these. They used to be $7, now at $15. That’s a jump but these stand the test of time and work well. On-Stage stand and accessories are great in general and offer tremendous value and performance in my experience. Recommended.

Wonderful
I use these all the time. Makes life a lot simpler. I'd buy a dozen more if I needed them. Built well, dependable, quick easy release of multiple different mics at verying weights. Love these things!

Good for the price
Good for the price, the only thing that worries me is if you accidentally click the button while the mic is angled. But again it works and worth having to spend time unmounting my mic directly from the stand
