Old but Gold: Still the best Kindle of all time (IMHO)
Bought international version (via Singapore) in November 2024 and have been using it daily for over 4 months, works well. Came new and factory sealed. Feels most solid of all kindles (glass screen, and metal back). I have had the Papertwhite and Voyage before, and I love this the most. Slim and light. Bought the Amazon premium leather case for it. For those in the reviews who say it does not charge to 100% : it's just the software adjusting to the charge levels. If you fully discharge the kindle, then fully charge it (do not disconnect it while it's charging, and discharge till the battery dies), do this a couple of times and it will charge to 100%. Battery life generally is relatively short compared to some other models, given its slim profile, but this doesn't bother me much (after all, I charge my iPhone and MacBook Pro daily before sleep, and I charge the Oasis every 5 or so days). Free roaming international data works well (tried in my travels to UK, Austria and UAE. Didn't work in Sri Lanka as I suppose AT&T do not have a roaming agreement with the Mobile service provide in Sri Lanka). I bought it when it was at USD 175, which is a 50% sale (was at USD 175 from May 2024 to Feb 2025, now back to USD 349 as at 19 March). It might go back on sale again given its a discontinued product, and I would be advise to buy it at the sale price rather than full price. I read on some reviews that the Oasis arrived with a dead battery, which of course would be the case since the last production date was in 2021 for these, but I found if you connect it the first time to high wattage charger (eg a 65w or 45w laptop charger) then after 10min it would “resurrect” the battery and it would switch on (and then let it charge to full before disconnecting as mentioned above). The high wattage will not damage the battery, but just charge it faster. It’s been fine ever since and battery charges normal.

Have had it since 2019 - Far better than Paperwhite even if the battery life isn't as good
I love this Kindle and am mostly writing this review as a vote for them to finally release an updated version. I dislike the Paperwhite's form factor. We have two Paperwhites in the house (one inherited and one bought for my child) and, compared with the Oasis, I dislike them. Sure the Paperwhite has a superior battery life and is visually more compact, but it feels heavy and clunky in comparison and I hate the lack of buttons. The Oasis' offset battery may look a bit odd, but the weight distribution is wonderful; it sits so well in your hand and feels vastly lighter than the Paperwhite even though it is really only 12g/.63oz lighter. The buttons sit under your thumb so all you need to turn the page is a twitch of the thumb. It is also surprisingly durable given how many times I have dropped it in the last 5 years. The battery isn't the best, but it charges very quickly so that isn't a big deal.If they release a new version with improved battery and USB-C charging I will buy it in a heartbeat even if those are the only changes. Heck, I'd buy a new one just for USB-C because at this point the Kindle is the only micro-USB thing left in my array of devices.Even though I am itching to get an updated e-reader, I have absolutely no desire to buy the Scribe as I don't make notations, it's too large, and it lacks buttons... and you already know my opinion on Paperwhite. So, if my trusty Oasis ever dies and a new one isn't available, I will have some hard decisions to make about whether or not to stay with Kindle. I know others share this same opinion from Reddit threads and other conversations I have seen around the internet.

I like the "page turn buttons".
But I prefer to use the kindle voyage. My old kindle voyage doesn't work well, and I couldn't find a new one to replace it.

New, but Dead
I may understand why the international version is being discounted, and why it is unavailable in most countries (including the U.S).Because the Internation Kindle Oasis might be faulty? In order to get the international version of the Kindle Oasis, I flew abroad to specifically for shipping the New Oasis (Why isn't it sold in the U.S.?).However, unfortunately, after waiting for 10 days for shipping and paying high transportation costs, I received a device that wouldn’t turn on.I suspect the battery is faulty. After checking the SN, I found that this model was manufactured in January 2021, so it had been sitting in storage for almost 4 years. The battery was damaged due to long-term disuse.Since international after-sales support would be inconvenient, I had no choice but to seek help from a local repair, which resulted in another expensive expense. Now I have only one question: Why did Amazon abandon the Oasis series? Why was the Oasis discontinued? A Kindle with page-turn buttons is the perfect design.I suggest that customers buy the Oasis from their Local Amazon or Local store, and be cautious about this discounted international version. Because if you encounter a situation like mine, you might end up paying more and have a really disappointing experience.

This is amazing.
I know it is an old model (2019), and although I am not used to buying old technology, I don’t regret this one bit. The buttons make up for it.The buttons help my concentration process.Comfortable to hold on to and very light weight.Love it.

No funciona bien
No funciona bien la tecla de apagado, hay que tener presionado bastante tiempo y si no lo apagas y desactivas y wifi la bateria se descarga muy rápido aun sin usarlo
