The FRIO Cooling Case will improve the life of anyone dependent on insulin or many other temperature-sensitive medications. The FRIO is a reusable evaporative cooler whose cooling properties do not come from an icepack - or anything that needs refrigeration. Its cooling properties come from the evaporation of water. When activated, it keeps its temperature under 78F for a minimum of two days, even in temperatures of 100°F. For a FRIO to be activated, simply soak it in water for 5 - 10 minutes. It retains its cooling properties for a minimum of two full days. After that, re-soak it in water and it is good for another two days - and so on, and so on... While a traditional medication cooling case gives you a six to eight hour "chain" to refrigeration, FRIO cuts that chain. The FRIO offers the security of not being dependent on refrigeration for the life-critical cooling of your insulin. It gives you freedom and flexibility to enjoy life as you choose. Furthermore, because you do not need an icepack or the surrounding insulating materials, the FRIO wallet is lighter and smaller than traditional medication-cooling cases. There are various sizes of FRIO available - some small enough to fit in your jean pocket.

IMPORTANT INFO TO KNOW
Worked very nicely. Only thing to be aware of is important if flying. My very first use I got targeted by TSA as it triggered as explosive on swab. If you don't want a very thorough and intrusive personal check rinse it a bunch of times to remove chemicals from the fabrics. Had no clue this could happen.

Using for Epi Pen! So thankful for this!
This is a great solution to being outside in the heat with an Epi Pen. You can control the temperature with cool water so it is not too cold for the Epi. It stays cool for days and does not get moldy or leak when I use the included breathable bag, even in my purse. The XL size fits 2-3 Epi Pens and keeps them at the proper temperature (between 68-77 degrees F) for 72 hours +. We live in an area that reaches over 100 degrees in the summer and the Frio stays cool outside for hours (we've been out for 4 hours in 90+ heat with it so far).Great product! I don't know how we lived without this!

Two Epi's and an Inhaler
Just wanted to mention for those of you using Epipens....I debated between the Large and XL. We need to hold two Epipens and an inhaler. I bought the XL and I'm glad I did. It will hold the two Epipens in their plastic cases, plus an inhaler without any problem. I believe for the Large, it would work. But according to another reviewer you would have to remove the Epi's from their cases, and the velcro would not close all the way. I didn't want to have to remove them from their case, nor worry about jamming things in there and the temp being affected by unsecured velcro. For those of you in a similar situation, I would go with the XL.

You need these if you travel!!
Dang!!! These work well! Carried a month's supply of Lantus and Humalog on a trip to Egypt and Morocco and never had to worry about finding a refrigerator!Read the directions, though; you can't just open it and use it immediately. It takes 20 min or so of soaking in cold water, then another 20 min or so of resting (so it doesn't drip or squeeze water out) before you can put it in your travel bag and go.I found that it lasted 10-12 days once it was cold and wet.

FRIO strikes it COOL!
These were very handy and useful for our trip to the hot tropics! My son has severe food allergies and has to carry with him several effective doses of EPINEPHRINE injections. The injections have to be maintained in a relatively cool temperature range (58-76 degrees Fahrenheit). The FRIO bags did the trick without having to carry an ice bucket around wherever we go for hours on end even on the hottest of days at the beach. We have not compared or used any other product since we are happy with it.FRIO Insulin Cooling Wallet Extra Large - Blue - 1130X-LGBL FRIO Insulin Cooling Wallet Extra Large - Blue - 1130X-LGBL
