I purchased one for my wife 2 years ago as she would recline her car seat and nap on our trips up north. I purchased a Ford F-150 and turned the headrest backwards and bought this support for me and put it on my car seat. It works great for long trips as I can put my head back farther with the headrest turned backwards and the neck pillow feels so good on my neck and back of my head while driving. When we stopfor a break from driving, I can recline my seat and the neck pillow works great for a little snooze time.

I am a woman and not tall and the front passenger seat of our car is very uncomfortable to sit in because the neck rest pushes against the back top of my head and my head is uncomfortably pushed forward if I try to lean back against the seat back, because the seat then goes further back under this “neck” rest. I looked for something to fix this issue which could be very dangerous in the case of an accident. I found this neck rest (this is actually the second one I have purchased) and it works really well to provide a natural neck rest and is comfortable and provides support. I purchased this product before but when I left it in the car all the time (we live in an area with an abundance of hot weather) the elastic on the back eventually stretched out. Now I keep it by the front door and bring it out to the car with me so I think it will last longer. It makes me angry that car manufacturers are allowed to get away with a dangerous design like this and I was very glad I was able to find a way to mitigate the risk of the bad design.

Looking at the pictures and reading the limited reviews, it was difficult to determine how plush or firm the memory foam would be. (looks like the seller updated the title to reflect that it is "soft". This additonal piece of information was not available at my time of purchase) I recently replaced my OEM headrest with ones that included a built in dvd player. As a result the support I needed for my neck and head became an issue while driving. I had hoped that this would provide firm support for my neck but alas it was not to be. This has to be the plushest, softest memory foam I have encountered. There is literally no support what so ever. If I decide to fold my seats down for a nap then these would be perfect, but for driving these are pretty much useless. :(

On my new bolt euv there was about a fist sized gap between my neck and the seat. this really caused it to ache coming home from chicago. This headrest was absolutely the perfect size to suppport my neck while driving long distances. The firmness was supportive and I'm usually like goldilocks when it comes to firmness. This was not too soft or too firm. Hope this stands up over time.

For shorter adults, there's a gap between the headrest and the seat that somewhat uncomfortably pushes your head forward. This neck pillow perfectly fits the gap for the front seats in my 2025 Kia Telluride! Great product!

If you read through the reviews of products for guidance before making purchases as I do, the reviews here will make you crazy. Some say it's too big, others say it's too small; some say it protrudes too much, others say it doesn't provide enough support. The problem is that the efficacy of this product is going to vary depending on the model of the car, the style of the headrest, and the height and size of the user.Under different configerations I have found this headrest to be all of the above. However, I have found that when I do get it right, it's a wonderful thing. I've 5'4", so no car headrests have ever been comfortable for me since they seen to be designed for people whose torsos are at least five inches longer than mine. The solution for me is to use it in a conjunction with a memory foam seat cushion (which is a heck of a lot more comfortable than the typical car seat anyway) and then to almost fully extend the headrest so that some of the neck pillow rests against the metal poles which fills in that dead space and supports my neck. Then, I am able to comfortably rest the top of my head against the headrest. In other words, it takes trying various placements, but it's worth it to deal with the discomforts of headrests that are really only adjustable if you are tall to taller to tallest. (Now, if some company were to create armrest pillows so that my forearms could rest on the armrests without me having to slouch down...)
