I've always loved Seiko watches and I'm happy to say that this one is no exception. The 7S26 revision C movement is quiet and accurate right out of the box. I've had the watch for three months and it's averaging a 3 second delay each day, which is great for a sub $100 automatic. The face is covered in Seiko 5 shields, but they are so lightly etched that I couldn't see them when I first looked (and I was looking for them). Unless you're looking at the face from the right angle in in the right light, it appears to have a brushed starburst finish. Overall the fit and finish is nice for the money and the lume is good although not applied in large quantities (Seiko has a strong reputation for great lume). I decided to replace the bracelet with a leather strap (the lug width is 18 mm). Though acceptable, the included bracelet is made of folded metal links. I was eventually able to re-size the bracelet myself, but it was needlessly difficult compared to other aftermarket bracelets I've worked with. As for the Hardlex crystal, I have another Seiko purchased in 2007, and I can vouch for its durability. My 2007 watch has slight scratches, but overall has held up really well with daily use. I expect the same from this watch. The watch is on the smaller side for a modern men's watch (approx. 37-38 mm), but works well with shirt cuffs and wouldn't be out of place in a business or business casual setting. I see it as more of a vintage style sports watch than a dress watch, but these days, you could get away with wearing it for most formal occasions. I find it shares a similar design aesthetics with the Rolex date just (only 36mm wide in the 1980's) with a little Seiko DNA thrown in for good measure (day/date, 4 o'clock crown). Overall, I wouldn't call it a luxury watch, but you get a lot for your money. As an everyday carry (EDC), or semi-dress watch, it fulfills its duties wonderfully providing classic Seiko/Rolex style, mechanical movement, and precision at a very reasonable price point.

Beautiful Rolex inspired design (with out the Rolex price) and made with Seiko quality, it's great value for the cost. I gave it three stars for accuracy because it spends most of the time on a watch winder, can't say about the water resistance either.
