High Quality Edger Blade
I have tried the McLain blades, which work but wear out quickly, and another brand of blade that was made with 3 'blades'. It worked a bit better than the McLain (Hardened steel, I think) but the hole was to big and required a washer. I saw these and decided to try them.First, they do fit the mandrel as the hole is the same size as the McLain drive shaft. The blades are 10" long but fit fine - there is about 1/2" of clearance on the guard. The blades themselves are slightly thicker and are double sided - I don't know yet if that makes a difference, but will update the review after using them awhile.I edge around 300' of concrete every time I edge my grass. These blades make a slightly wider groove and on the curved parts of the walkway are wider as the angle and length of blades results in a groove 4 to 5x as wide as the 'straight' groove. I tried setting the blade to its deepest depth and it indeed would cut out the dirt (Which sprays all over - if you try this you will likely need a shower afterwards). Overall, they work slightly more quickly and make a cleaner cut (Probably due to the sharpened edge). If you have a powered edger, these would be an excellent accessory. As a strong plus, these are made in the United States.

Very well made
I purchased a well-used McLane edger recently, so bought a pack of these blades. As others have noted, they're an inch longer than the stock (9 inch) McLane blade, but there's still plenty of clearance to the blade guard. The first use of my edger (and the key reason I bought it) was to help me in digging a trench to lay down some landscape wiring, so I appreciated being able to dig a little deeper. The blade worked very well, easily cutting through lots of small shallow roots in my back yard. Being sharpened both sides (i.e. reversible to double the usage) is a very nice feature. Highly recommended.

Excellent! Sad to think of the time and money ...
Excellent! Sad to think of the time and money I have left on the Sears sales counter. Fortunately this time I went to buy more edger blades they were out and had no clue when/if they would get more. Reviewed options on Amazon and these fit the bill in many ways. Right size (length & mounting hole) and both edges were sharpened. While my season for use has ended, I did get a couple of edging efforts completed. Blade worked perfectly!

Much better than the standard Mclane blades
Much better than the standard Mclane blades; these are 10 in; not 9 in. like the normal blades. Gives a deeper cut and better look -- doesn't interfere with the blade guard at all. Would for sure buy again.

SUPERIOR BLADES
WELL WORTH THE RELATIVELY HIGHER COST. THESE ARE MADE OF THICKER STEEL AND LAST CONSIDERABLY LONGER. YOU WILL BE HAPPY WITH THESE SUPERIOR BLADES.

USA Mower Blades
This is the first time I used this blade, and it cut with precision, with no strain on the engine. I would strongly recommend this blade for edging.
