Well, I was hesitant to buy these towels because of the rather large number of negative reviews, but I did any way. as many reviews pointed out frayed edges, lots of lint, and so forth. When my towels arrived ( on time and packaged well) I gave mine a gentle wash in cool water, and then set the dryer to a normal heat and a lower running time.What came out of the dryer were my 12 towels, intact, and ready to fold and put away. The accompanying picture showing these towels however, is very misleading. Don't be expecting a plush, fluffy towel, as you'll be very disappointed. Initially, I also thought the towels would be a little larger. This is your very basic, gym size towel.After having a shower, and using the towel to dry myself, it was a satisfactory experience. I'm a low maintenance, no frills kind of man, so for me, the size was right and allowed me to dry myself quickly and be done with it. I also didn't mind the "not so soft" texture of the towels. While not sand paper rough, the towel had enough "bite" to invigorate my skin.I bought these towels to keep from going to Walmart, not too far from my home. I would rather take a bullet after having a root canal than shop there. For the price, the towels meet my needs and expectations. These wont be the last towels you'll ever buy, but I'm okay with what I have. They are thin towels too, so you may or may not like that.

I was hesitant to order these towels due to those mixed reviews. Like many talked about wanting thinner towels for easy and quick drying after the gym or after running, I have been searching for a towel that can do just that. Those thicker fluffy ones are just too bulky to carry around and do not absorb or wick efficiently. So, I order only the smallest quantity to try it out, just in case they are as frail as some have commented. Its true that after the first wash, there are tons of lint in the dryer. But, the towels work very well as much as I expected. Yes, the fringes are not well made and frayed out a bit. But, I don't have any problem of the continuing flying lint everywhere problem as others have noted. For the price, the light weight, and the drying efficiency, I love them! Even if they don't last long, they are still worth it. I recommend them!

I wanted some smaller towels for around the house and gym. It seems like the trend is toward ultra plush towels that I find to be over the top. So I just wanted a smaller towel that works. So I bought a box of these. They're fine for what I bought them for. I decided to wash all the towels in one load before using them. I have never seen so much lint in the lint trap of my dryer as I did after drying these towels. I mean big gobs of lint. Then on my first use of the towels after washing them, I STILL got a lot of lint on my body. Sheesh. But they're OK. Go ahead an buy a bundle. It's really nice to look at a huge stack of towels knowing they're all yours and you got them cheap.

I think for the money, these towels are a great value. I was looking for some hotel towels because I always loved what they use in the hotels. I do a lot of sauna and needed a lot of towels so I can rotate them. I bought a dozen and am very happy with them. I washed them all before the first use and have been using them since. They are quite fluffy and not too soft, just right. I was my experience before that sometimes when towels are too soft they are not so absorbent. Not so with these towels. They are highly absorbent and very practical. I ended up using them for all my needs. They are just the right size, so I use them for the sauna, as a body towel and also to dry my hair. They wash up beautifully, are super white, and I have been using them over and over. If you need a bunch of utility towels for every day wear and tear, this is it. Highly recommended.

As others have noted these do shed. However, after washing and drying them it seems to have stabilized.I have liked this size towel since high school and college many years ago. It is hard to find. While they are muchnicer than gym towels they are easy to handle and use. We may put the plush alternatives out for guests just tolet them know we can offer the quality but in my bathroom hangs these smaller ones. They look fine to me andare not as austere as I anticipated. They have an embroidered band and they dry quick too!I would have paid more since this size appeals so the price is a bonus - good value. FWIW, I'll let the guests and girlshave the heavy plush towels. Give me a smaller lightweight towel so I can get the job done quick and be on my way.

I bought a set of these towels 2.5 years ago. I just ordered another set. They are not big beefy towels. But they have held up nicely and were worth the price. I like to wash towels after they have been used once. I have a towel washing obsession. I have a lot of kids. If I had to wash a big beefy towel after each one bathed, I would have twice as much towel laundry. A big person might like to use two. Sometimes I use one to dry off and one for my hair. I also never know quite where my towels might end up. So, if one ends up as bedding for a bottle fed orphaned lamb in the house, it isn't such a loss. (This happened!)

I wanted slightly smaller sized bath towels that were not too fluffy (w/ short hair, how much towel do you really need to dry off! Thinner towels dry more quickly). These were inexpensive and will allow me to change towels often w/o having to do laundry too often. Only negative so far is that it sheds white lint everywhere. I end up with white lint in my hair, and on my skin once I air dry more. Not a deal-breaker considering the price of these, but a slight annoyance to brush lint off w/ hands afterwards (it's not that bad). So if you're looking for a large number of smaller, thinner, and inexpensive bath towels, these should work for you too!
