I just received it and maybe i can update this later, but its quiet and makes clear ice no matter what you put in it, but that's the idea. Some idiots seem to believe that you have to have filtered water or whatnot to have clear ice. They need to google what makes clear ice. Clear ice has nothing to do with how filtered your water is.I have seen a couple reviews where people are commenting about the cubes all coming out in one piece? really? is your life so pretentious that you cant raise a hand up and break up some cubes of ice? So far this as made some bad @ss cubes of ice. And I will report back....This is the best clear ice maker I have seen, but again, time will tell. But at least its good clear ice.....

I purchased three prior ice makers (different brands) that all lasted two years. I now have Sentern and it is the best one. It is quiet, makes a lot of ice that I can break up with the back of a table knife into whatever length I want or freeze. I always have plenty of ice for everyone and I daily run it about 15 hours. Makes clear square cubes that last longer. It doesn't dilute my drink flavor and I love it. Will buy again if I need to.

Easy set up. Provides plenty of ice, up to 24 square cubes at a time. They do come out stuck together, but are easily broken up with the scoop (come with the ice maker) if needed. Well enough for a family of 6. We use bottled watter so the ice is crystal clear. The fresh made ice cubes will be placed in a plastic container and store it in our freezer right. I love the stainless steel color which makes it look really sleek and matches with any room, living room, kitchen, office or open air party. It's a little bigger than some of the other ice makers I've been looking at, which is great because it holds a larger capacity and makes up to 48 lbs of ice a day. It has a large clear window which makes it easy to see ice levels. Furthermore, its extremely quiet and won't cause any noise. This ice maker gets to work quickly and makes square ice cubes in less than 15 minutes. I would especially recommend this for those who like to have entertain guests, because its much easier and more cost-efficient than buying bags of ice or using ice trays. It couldn't be more convenient because it requires no installation and is really user friendly. I would happily recommend this machine to anyone who wants to have fresh ice on hand.

UPDATE: A day ago the pump started to become so loud while running that we had to shut it off. I’ve just sent email to supplier (07/15) and will wait for their feedback before I adjust my rating. Very disappointed.I’ve only had this ice maker for a few days but am very happy with it. Produces ice in a short period of time and there’s barely any noise to it, except when ice is being dropped in storage. Also extremely pleased with customer service. Had a minor issue that was solved very quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend.

I’m not an expert on portable icemakers, but the negative reviews here seem to be due to a lack of basic knowledge and/or unreasonable expectations.1) If you want something that gives you ice in 7 minutes, this isn’t the machine for you. The machines that do this will give you crappy, cloudy, bullet cubes that will melt as soon as you put them in your drink; 2) “The ice is wet and sticks together.” No kidding. That’s part of the process. You need to buy a commercial machine if you want “dry” ice, but the process will take longer. And the cubes will STILL be stuck together (the commercial machine in our cafeteria puts out huge sheets of cubes that need to be broken up); 3) Ice machines are little freezers. They need to be kept upright. And as long as Amazon depends on the Edisons at USPS, don’t expect those folks to know that big arrow on the box means “This end up.” Therefore, let the machine sit upright for at least 24 hours to allow the refrigerant to settle before using it. In fact, the instructions say wait at least an hour, but a day is better. The machine is too big to keep on my counter, so I keep it on a shelf in another room, and even though it stays upright, I still let it sit at least an hour before starting it after I move it.This machine: It’s marvelous! I’ve used tap water so far, and still get crystal clear ice. I set it to the biggest setting (the cubes will be the same size, but the “small” cubes will be more hollow than the “big” cubes.) Count on a little less than a half-hour between batches (longer for the first one). When the bin gets full (3 batches), I move the ice to a plastic bag, give the outside of the bag a couple soft whacks with a crab mallet, and it goes in the freezer. Repeat until the ice bin for the broken icemaker in my freezer is full and I have a couple gallon bags of extra cubes for coolers, etc.The ice is as good or better than any bagged ice you’ll buy, and it lasts much longer. When I used ice from the store, it would often melt long before I finished my drink. Now, I still have a good amount of ice remaining when the drink is gone. Winner!Overall, this machine exceeds my expectations thus far. Spend the extra money and get this quality icemaker that makes good, commercial-grade ice. Don’t take my word for it – read the reviews on the cheaper machines. My guess is you’ll come back to this one.

I really like my Sentern Portable Electric Clear Ice Maker. Produces crystal clear ice cubes as claimed. glad I researched before purchase. Much better than our last “bullet” ice maker!

This ice machine pumps out some ice and does it extremely quietly. My only recommendation would to be brighten the digital display. It is difficulty to read because it is so dim.

Replaced a built-in, under counter ice-maker (Danby garbage that "s't the b") and it performed excellently! Same clear ice and lots of it, but super-quiet! The built-in groaned ridiculously loud. This unit does not. Makes great small cube clear square ice. Only beef was that at the largest/higher setting, it was pretty difficult to break up. Had to use one of the metal scoops from previous ownership of ice makers. But dialing it down to the "1 or 2" setting fixed this.Had an ample supply all-day. There was even ice left over the next day after the unit shut down (12 hr. auto-shut). Just refilled in the morning and pressed on/start. Excellent thermo hold!
