Slick Lock Chevy GMC Swing Door Kit Complete with Spinners, Weather Covers and Locks

I do a lot of research before I buy anything and these locks are the best. Not having to drill holes through the van not only adds resale value but looks and functions exponentially better. Some say that these lots are easy to cut off, however even after the lock is cut off the face (through stainless steel, you better have a 6" cutoff or a damn torch) there is two massive plates in the way guarding the latch. As someone Who works with metal fabrication daily you would have an easier time trying to get in the van if you just cut a hole in the side panels. Having OCD during the install I preferred to be able to close my doors with zero resistance, so I cleanly cut a little bit of the weatherstripping around the plate (I recommend using small scissors). If do you watch the video on the slick locks website for the installation they cover everything even as far as fine tuning enough to satisfy even my OCD.

The fit was fine. You'll have to leave bolts a little loose so you can jiggle things into place.Also, to need to cut more than a slit in the door seal. It's more like a slot, otherwise the door seal bulges into the space between the two hasps and either pinches (and eventually breaks) or the door won't shut without a slam. In the latter case, the two hasps are a little too far apart and the lock is hard to get on. So, cut a slit, but then cut parts about 1/4" and then another shot to remove a section of door seal that is the length of the hasps, and around 1/4" wide. Then it goes together perfectly.

Tools needed for installation: #30 torx screwdriver, #40 torx screwdriver.. also tin snips, drill, cutoff wheel, angle grinder, bench vice, sand weighted plastic sledge, pry bar, ball peen hammer... What in trying to get at is, the product doesn't fit.

Excellent concept and really easy application. Install took roughly 30 minutes taking my time. Good fit on my Fleet 2018 E250 and much nicer fit and finish than those ugly Master Lock hinges. Several reviews mentioned space between lock and door, and yes there's some, but they'd have to bring cutting tools to attack both plates. Honestly if they really want in, and have the undisturbed time, they're in regardless of what we do.

The locks are not the brass body locks that are suppose to come with the GM-FVK-1-TK kit. They are 1/3 the weight and made of aluminum but the blades are the same
