Melted after a few hours
This product melted itself after a few hours and also cracked my expensive 50 gallon tank (for a snake) that's like 200 dollars down the drain. It wasn't even on max heat

No markings on temp dial
Used for reptile terrarium, product only gets hot in small section, and it got so hot that it warped and melted plastic. Would be preventable if the dial had any notches or markings to show how hot you set it to. there are none. Only good thing is that it comes in 2 pack so when you destroy one by trial and error, there's another. Hopefully you don't burn your animals in the process!

Too hot.
Cracked two $80 tanks because of runaway heat levels.

Cracked tank, WAY too hot on lowest.
I used one heating pad on the lowest setting and it cracked my tank in under an hour. The humidity in my well-regulated tank was cut in half in that time. The mat was reading at over 100° when the product’s lowest temperature is advertised at 85°. It seems to be wildly inconsistent as I’m reading other reviews I wish I had seen prior to purchasing. I thought I could save a little money by purchasing this, but it is costing me SO much more now than it would have been if I had gotten the brand I was using previously.

Maybe good for plants but not for as advertised
I needed another way to provide belly heat for a reptile. Looked like this was a good deal, 2 for the price of one the size you need. So, good thing there were 2 because it looks a lot smaller than the advertised pic. Anyway, plugged it in and turned the dials all the way up to get even to the 80's. It's averaging at about 90 now, and that's having to use BOTH AND a heating pad around the side of the enclosure. They're good, I suppose, for seedling starters but DEFINITELY NOT for reptiles as advertised.Disappointed, but it's in the enclosure now, so I have to use it. But next time, I think I'll just pay for a human heating pad at a much better price where you can at least see the temperature (low, medium, high...) and thus have the heat needed at a better price and much easier controlled temp.

Going strong for about 2 months.
Great heating pads for the money, I would only use the 7W 11 x 5.9 Inch for no more than 20 gallon tank or container unless you're using it to keep a small area warm in a larger tank. The only problem is the turning dile has no real genuine meter, the dile turns way pass the reading point. It's warming up in Georgia but for at least 2 month I let it run 24 / 7 without interruption and it works fine.

Dials are different for each mat.
I'm pretty happy with these for my snake totes, though I did have to use a temperature lazer reader to set the dials because each one was slightly different.I check the temperatures with the reader every week but they, as well as the ambient temps are holding steady. I would recommend using a thermostat with these if you plan on keeping a reptile on them, just to be safe.Since the kit came with more than I needed for my totes, I used two of them for my seedling trays and they worked well for that as well! They are not adhesive so I used gorilla tape.

For reptiles, keep at lowest setting
They are very powerful heating pads. If using for a reptile, only turn the dial until it clicks on. That is as far as you want to turn the dial. I've purchased two of these about 3 months ago and they are working wonderfully. If you turn the dial past the turn on click (sound) then the temp rapidly rises. Keep it at the lowest setting and your reptiles will be fine. A number setting on the dial would be nice. Remember, as soon as you hear the turn on "click", leave in that position. Maybe, turn it a millimeter further, but check the heat output.
