I've written reviews on SPO2 devices before and until now have yet to find one that matches the ChoiceMed unit that I purchased back in 2014.I wrote a review on that one and gave it 5 stars.When visiting a pulmonology clinic the other day I noticed they were using the TempIR SPO2 unit.I decided to check it against my ChoiceMed.Both tracked exactly the same on me. This is the first time I've had another unit track with my original one.I have tried other SPO2 units sold on Amazon but they were usually off by a couple of points plus or minus.Just to clarify - I had my ChoiceMed SPO2 tested against a hospital unit back in 2014 when I purchased it and it was spot on.The TempIR SPO2 tracking along with my ChoiceMed SPO2 tells me that these are BOTH fine and accurate units.The purchase choice is up to you.I picked up a TempIR the other day so that I could have a second unit for my first aid bagand to take to the gym with me from time to time for O2 and heart rate spot checks.I checked the TempIR that I received against my original ChoiceMed unit and again it was tracking perfectly.Bottom line - This unit is accurate, reliable, and it has a few bells and whistles built into it.I do like the color screen that allows you to change it's readout position simply by pushing the ON button when a reading is in progress.Also, there are alarms that can be set for MAX and MIN SPO2% and MAX and MIN Heart Rate.The unit comes with batteries, case, instructions on usage and a lanyard as well.It's worth the price as far as I'm concerned and I recommend it highly.-Vince52-

This Oximeter works great. I recently had heart surgery and use this to keep track of my O2 levels while healing. I compared it to the oximeter at my Doctor's office and found it to be accurate. It is very finicky and gives odd readings if you do not insert your finger correctly or if your finger is cold/cool. It is simply a learning curve when putting the oximeter on your finger. I have found that using my middle finger works best for position, and warming my hands a little before putting it on solves the odd readings when my fingers are cool. One thing I want to mention is that this unit is pretty robust in comparison to others I have seen. Then again, it does cost more!

Received my Finger Pulse Oximeter much quicker than expected. Aside from the little battery cover not fitting properly, the oximeter works perfectly well, and I like that I can use the little strap to hang it around my neck. I have discovered that when my fingers are cold, that I do not get the correct reading, which is understandable...I warm my hands up a bit and it works fine. Took it to the cardiac rehab center that I go to, and we compared mine with the ones they had there, and found that the Finger Pulse Oximeter indicates the same readings as theirs did. I feel confident using this Oximeter while I use my fitness machine at home, and will also use it for walks when the weather gets better and I can exercise outdoors again. I bought this oximeter in May of 2014. It performed flawlessly for 2 1/2 years when the pins in the hinge fell out.I contacted Temp IR by email. Two days later I receive an email from Tim at Den of Goods offering me a free replacement. The meter came in 4 days.That's what I call excellent service and standing behind your product. I am a happy customer for life.

This was purchased for the necessary value of oxygen saturation. Due to the chronic disease, we hoped for an accurate reading to share with the doctor when traveling at high altitude. It always read low, which was perceived as the baseline. It was worse (lower) at 8000’.Upon return to sea level took the device to the doctor office to confirm its accuracy. It was 5-6 points lower than the office oximeter. This was a disappointing fact since I’ve been worried unnecessarily.UPDATE! The company reached out to me and I upgraded from a 1 star to a 4 star. They stand behind their products and replace the faulty oximeter. I am very pleased with their responsiveness.
