Have purchased this model before. Usually the capacitor fails after a couple of years. They are easy to replace since it is located on the top of the motor. The motor can be rebuilt by a professional shop for about $150 and that gives you a couple of more years of life. I would have rebuilt the old motor but the case was badly corroded since the environment my motor operates in is harsh from exposure to salt air so I elected to just buy another one. It will operate on 120 or 240. Just remember to set the switch on the motor to the proper voltage before you operate the motor.

This pump is very quiet and so far is working well for our pool. If that changes, I'll change my review but we are very happy at this time.

This is the second time I have installed a new motor onto my Pentair SuperFlo. I purchased this same pump under another listing and it seems like the build quality has gotten even better. Unlike the product image, the housing that mates to the pump adapter plate is actually coated from the outside! LESS SURFACE RUST! Installed with no problem onto a 10+ year old pump housing.My pump arrived in a "Century - Centurion" labeled box. Not sure if A.O. Smith is the same company, but it doesn't make a difference to me as long as it works, and it did.To make your life easier as someone that has done this:- Buy a SuperFlo gasket kit- Make sure to have waterproof grease- Tighten all bolts similar to lug nuts on a car- Prime the pump with water before turning on to prevent dry running the unit for too long.And lastly, to make your pump run more efficiently make sure to clean your pool filter regularly and replace when needed!!! It doesn't matter how good your pool pump is if you're making it work 3-4x harder with a dirty filter element.Good luck and I hope your install goes as well as mine did. If you can change the oil in your car and wire an light switch you can do this job!

This was pool pump was the perfect fit, easy to install and runs so much quieter than the previous old pump. I am very happy with this purchase.

I bought this pool pump motor after the bearings started going out on the original Pentair motor. I was hoping for an exact match to make swapping it out easier since I've never replaced a pump motor. I found a Youtube video showing how to do it using this same motor and it worked out GREAT. I am so happy with this motor. It is much quieter than the old one and hopefully it will last just as long - approx 6 years.

Great replacement, good price, easy to install. This same replacement pump lasted 3 years. Wish it lasted a little longer. My only complaint.

This worked great - the only drawback is that the seals are not included and the seal kit’s didn’t include one important seal: R0479400 Pump Shaft Seal. We put it back together with the old seal to only have to redo it as it started leaking. This is an issue with this product-it works. Just make sure you have all of the replacement seals.

Purchased the motor on June 9, 2023. Installed 3 days later. Would not run today, September 13, 2024. This is the third motor we have installed for our pool pump and this one has lasted just a few months beyond the 1 year warranty period. The first motor, which was made in the USA, lasted about 6 years. Our pool pump runs 365 days a year usually on between 7 and 12 hours a day depending upon the season.

Heavy duty quality - Spent all winter outside buried in snow and ice and still fired right up. Definitely recommend buying a motor shelter or bringing it inside.. Unfortunately I wasn't around at the beginning of winter but it seemed unfazed by winter, no rust or short circuits! A+
