I’m SURE there’s more than one “snobberyphile” (aka “audiophile”) who will look down his/her extended proboscis as such a device and say things like “it’s NOT Rhodium/Gold/unobtainium plated,” or “but it’s not cryogenically treated,” or sniff and whine about some missing label from a *NAME* with a correspondingly high price like KURUtech or OyahYahDay or somesuch which might give this manufacturer some ideas for future upgrades and marketing (make them in carbon fiber with THICKER/beefier casings and cryogenically-treated GOLD plated pins and charge, say, $300 for ONE - $240 with discount - and plant a few messages on the “snobberyphile” audio equipment boards with buzzwords like “expanded soundstage” or “improved current draw,” or “subtle, sublime, for golden ears only” or… Look, this is the FIFTH one of these I’ve bought. In upgrading old(er) audio gear (from preamps, tuners, amps, RtR decks) to trying to get those 3-prong IEC plugs to STAY in the jacks where they belong on BRAND NEW equipment, finding this gadget was a godsend. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought NEW, to IEC code SPEC sockets AND cords only to have the things fall out randomly and/or just never FEEL like they’re fully engaged in the sockets at all. I’ve used these for NEW Oscilloscopes, Signal generators, Power Supplies and digital volt-meters ‘cause NONE of the supplied plugs will STAY in the equipment without bits of folded matchbooks or tape or glue, rubber bands or other things to hold them in place. We can send a man to the moon (or a soundstage in Texas, ahem) but… It’s like buying size 10-1/2 x 4E shoes from different name brands or off-brands and NONE of them fit quite like the others. Pants, too. NO standards. Well, IEC is THE standard producer. So buying something with an IEC socket with the little EU and other stamps on them SHOULD make them all the same size/shape/fit. NERP! There’s no guarantee. I bought one of those several hundred dollar power cables for a ham radio power supply years ago and was shocked, SHOCKED to find that I THEN had to buy a special IEC socket with a wire bail/CLAMP on it to keep the cord plugged in. Of course, I don’t think this device was available back then or I probably would have gotten one. Really, I think this gadget is necessary for peace of mind AND connectivity in a world of standards hardly any of the (YUGE country counterfeiting products and ignoring international copyrights and standards not to be mentioned directly) manufacturers are actually following. Just for the record, I don’t work for Amazon or the maker of the plug/adapter. I’m a tech hobbyist going on 50+ years and have watched the slow degradation of products over that time. This gadget makes up for some of that breakdown, poor production values, lack of fit/finish. EASILY connected to a standard IEC cord, instructions are EASY and included with each plug - it helps to have a GOOD quality wire stripper though, like one of the spring/clamp types or a good all-around electrician’s tool for smaller (like 18 gauge) wire. I HAVE connected these to standard 18 AWG 3-conductor wire as well as Belden 14/3 shielded wire (as in photos - sorry, plugs are in amps/DAC and other equipment a little hard to access right now). Worth the time, effort for a little peace of mind and something manufacturers should have been doing already for years. But don’t listen to me, I’m old(er) and whining about this new world disorder, deal with it your own way, but if you want a good, secure, solid connection on your power cord, this is it.

5++Stars, Electric Bike Issue solved!
If you ride an electric bike, Scooter, or moped you know that the vibration from the road over 15 Mph jiggles the battery pack power supply cord loose or out all together. I have tried many solutions and "Quick Fixes" over the years and by far this is the only one that is solid, sturdy, and securely locked into place and has not shimmied loose at the top speed of 40 Mph of my electric bicycle. I recommend this and I bought one each for my kids scooters to be on top of this if it did become an issue with theirs. Great idea, Excellent Product! Just to add, My Electric Bike run on a 60V-12Ah SLA battery series, (5 12V-12Ah SLA batteries) and both the power output to the motor and the power input for the charger use this connector (C13).

Good Plug - Bare wires only
Plug will not accept ferrules on the ends of the wires due to the location of the screws holes for the cover. You have to strip the wires, twist, and then carefully push them into the holes. Of course if you miss, the strands collapse on themselves, and you’ll try again. Eventually, I got it and the plug held the wires very securely with the screw system.

Good product
Is an uncommon product hard to find does the work perfectly fine on our low voltage connections. The lock plastic slider could be re designed better but isn’t affecting the performance. Thanks

Great product
Liked that it is built very well. It has a cord pull protector inside plug. It does prevent accidental plug disconnection.

Quality piece.
Quality product. It keeps the power cord going to my onstage pedal board tucked in close to avoid being stepped on or kicked.

Fantastic gripping power for this LOCKING plug! It really does stay where you want it!
I originally bought a TrippLite "locking plug" cord and found it held in place just as well as a NON-locking C13 plug. Waste of money when it falls out of your expensive pellet smoker halfway through the cook. Can you say "start all over, sort of"? Putting the smoker cover on and off several times a week will rub against any electric cord and work it loose but this shouldn't happen to a "locking" cord during a cook when the cover is already off. Imagine if it were a server or network gear needing occasional hands on activity. Been there done that. For this need, I wired the original smoker cord minus the C13 end to this new locking plug and can now tug on it significantly and it won't give without using the red release tabs. Well done, WebberElectronics. Now offer some attached cord options.
