I bought this because I'd recently purchased both a GE dishwasher and range and wanted a stainless hood to go with them. It matched perfectly with the GE standard color and look! (Each company can have slightly different shadings, etc.) I must say that, at the highest speed, the fan is very noisy but I really don't use that one. The variable speed is a nice touch that I hadn't seen before, and the fan is effective when running. Overall, I really do love it! Thank you for the very good shipping as well.

I received it with a small dent right in the from . Packaging could be a little better. We just straightened it as good as possible and kept it instead of going through the trouble to send back. Works great, quiet and nice looking.

The Broan under-cabinet hood range fit exactly and works as efficiently as I could have hoped for the price. We updated our kitchen, and removed the old "avocado green" hood vent, and wanted something to match our other stainless appliances. Installation was super easy with a few wires to connect and four bolts to install. There were pull-out metal tabs to adjust the opening from a narrow rectangle vent to a round opening depending upon your up vent. You will have to use some force and pliers to remove the correct cut-out for your install. The two features, the light and the fan, are standard. The light is on a dimmer switch/dial so you may adjust the lighting from low to bright. The fan has the same feature so you may adjust the fan from low to high. When on high, I will agree with other reviewers, that it is VERY loud. If you use the fan on high, you may have to turn it down to hear what someone else in the room is saying. BUT, the suction on this fan doesn't require the fan to be on high to remove steam or cooking odors from the stove area. I keep it on low/medium and find it works perfectly while still carrying on a conversation.Overall this was a great price for a great product. It works and it is inexpensive compared with other hood vents. This will not run like a $400.00 vent, but as a replacement or keeping within a budget, it works great and has features that work well.

It was a pretty straight forward install. I'd suggest making sure you know at least basic wiring and make sure to turn off the breaker for the power source you are connecting to. If you have doubts hire someone to install it properly.Instructions are pretty clear and all hardware was with the unit. Looks clean and no damage during shipping which is a plus. Used everyday, sometimes for hours and still works same as the day I put it in. I'd definitely recommend this hood for the every day home cook.

I ordered this to replace a twelve year old biscuit colored unit as part of a remodeling project. Even though the new one it is the exact same model as the older one, the underside of the new unit has been significantly changed. The older one had a nice sleek appearance. It accommodated two light bulbs behind a flush diffuse which gave the unit a very nice appearance. The new version on the other hand, has only one bulb socket and much of the bulb is exposed. The lighting will not be as even on the cooking surface as the older model. And one central bulb location is not the best solution for a 36 inch wide unit like this one. It's clear they are just trying to save money by this redesign.More importantly, the packaging now provides no protection for the middle of the unit during shipping. The first one I ordered arrived bent. So I returned it and reordered a second unit. The second one arrived bent as well, not as bad, but enough to make it unusable. I guess I'll be using a biscuit colored vent hood for a while longer. Putting the original packaging inside a second box for shipping would likely solve this problem but that has not been done for the two units I have received.

Thankful that the top was not pre-cut as the knock outs did not work for my application. Looks great and works well for the price. Was happy to find a 42” in stainless steel.

This vent was very nice. I ordered it for my granddaughter. It was a bit difficult for me to install, but I'm not sure if it was just because I'm old and arthritic. It would probably be easier for a healthier person. I'm not sure how to judge that.

Item sent was a cheaper model than model I ordered. The item was obviously opened and returned by another buyer. There was a part in box that was obviously not part of range hood and grease filter was missing. There was an opened pack of drywall anchors from a previous failed install on this item.
