The media could not be loaded. Writes well with more friction. I wouldn’t say it feels like sandpaper as others have described, but that’s because I had a rougher paper feel cover before to compare. I would say this one is in the middle between writing on slippery glass and rough sand paper. Once you adjust the pressure of your Apple Pencil to the new cover it should work well.

It took me a while to get it on but once I did, it looks and works perfectly! I didn’t have many bubbles to get out. The alignment and adhesion are also good. It works just as good as the more expensive “paper-feel” screen protector. Good quality at a low price.

These work great and feel great for drawing, they had no effect on screen clarity and I had no issues with scratches on my screen. They aren’t as thick as a glass screen protector so that’s important to keep in mind, they probably wouldn’t protect from cracks. I had no issues with bubbles with when following the install instructions

I'm an illustrator. Started out traditional as soon as I was old enough to hold a pencil. Turned to digital before high school. Graduated college with a degree in "Digital Imaging" focused on digital art and illustration. That was 10 years ago and despite a career outside of the arts I've been dabbling in it ever since.The whole reason I purchased an iPad Pro was to basically force myself to get back into it more seriously. But one thing I immediately hated about it was the incredibly slick glossy glass display. Why Apple doesn't offer a matte option for this tablet targeted partially at digital illustrators/painters is beyond me, but that's another product review.I heard all the rave reviews about the official Paperlike matte screen films for iPads so I immediately ordered one of those for mine. Unfortunately between COVID and their backorders here I am a week and a half later and I don't even have an ETA from across the pond. In the meantime I decided to try out one of these.Pros:- Cheap! It's about half the price of a legit Paperlike with standard shipping. I have yet to try those so I'm not sure how the actual quality stacks up. But for the money this is no slouch.- Somewhat forgiving installation. Although not at all what I'd consider "easy". To be fair, the 12.9" iPad is a big surface. So it's going to be hard to get it on there bubble free. I did because I had to do this for years working in retail support and I'm very cautious and methodical about it. To the inexperienced I could see it being a nightmare. I highly recommend some YouTube shield installation videos first and finding a dust-free environment without a whole lot of airflow. A bathroom maybe. But if you feel like you screwed something up, it's surprisingly forgiving about being peeled back up a little and cleaned up. Just don't get too careless or you'll find corners failing to adhere anymore.Mehs:- At first the surface felt too rough. But I got used to it and now I actually somewhat enjoy the degree of control it provides. It's closer to slightly rougher drawing or sketch paper than, say, something like vellum (or a Wacom surface, speaking in digital tablet terms). I can see some people taking issue with this but it's not a dealbreaker for me. Just not entirely ideal. I'm hoping the legit Paperlike is on the smoother side.- It's a matte screen film. Kiss that high-gloss display goodbye but also understand that it will very slightly wash out the image you see. The iPad still looks very good with it, it's just not quite as vibrant, of course. I'm not calling this a con as that's just the nature of the product and I anticipated this (also I use nothing but matte displays on my PC anyway). But for some this is a problem. I have not seen too terrible of a rainbow effect as some people mentioned. At worst there's a slight hint of it at extreme angles I wouldn't be using the tablet at anyway.Cons:- One downside of that rough surface is this will absolutely wear down the plastic tip of your Apple Pencil after a while. That part can be replaced but if this were a bit smoother it likely wouldn't be an issue.- In my initial testing here it feels like this very very slightly reduces touch sensitivity, as most thicker screen protectors/films do. Now, I don't have any empirical data to back that up so take that and really any review you read with a grain of salt. I just don't think some of these gestures are being recognized quite as consistently as they were before. That said, I'm talking about a difference between perfect and as close to perfect as it gets. It's still plenty sensitive enough. Just something to keep in mind if you're pickier about that.- These larger devices benefit greatly from installation guides - those plastic frames used to apply screen protectors. I realize you can't just throw that into the production pipeline of this product but it is a negative that it doesn't have one.Overall I'll say it's actually a pretty decent product for the price (and availability). Definitely not perfect and you'll have to be ready to accept some minor setbacks. But it's certainly good enough for me until I can get my hands on something potentially better.

The media could not be loaded. I've bought all the top rated screen protectors for the iPad and forgot to mark which was my favorite. I hate that it always takes me both tries to get it right because of how long it lasts in between. First one was a waste because lint is always flying around, not the products fault, and thankfully I had several spatula tools to push out the bubbles because this one didn't have one, and I hope I never have to change it again because I got it perfectly done! In the video it sounds a lot louder than it really is, it's actually very quiet, the loudest part is when you move your hand, sounds rough but I'm so used to it that it doesn't bother me. As for the screen glare, it's not really that bad, it makes any type of reflection and blurs it out, doesn't effect me writing, drawing, gaming, or anything. The nibs on the apple pencil don't get broken down a ton, I write more than anything and they last me a long time. Would recommend, and will return again. If you're a perfectionist I would definitely buy several of these to keep in stock so if you mess up you'll have extra. Very easy and simple to apply, just dust the area and use lots of lens wipes and as quickly as possible line it up.

I absolutely love this. My iPad doesn’t have as many finger prints as before what drove me crazy and writing with my Apple Pencil is easier and pleasant. My writing is more legible. It does make a scratchy noise when you write. But I love it anyways, it does not bother me.Read instructions to install I was skipping them, and almost return the product because I thought the blue film was actually the entire product and my screen was going to be weird and blue. Nope. Love it! Such a good price for it.
