Traverse Sports Dirus 2-in-1 Convertible Snow Helmet

Got this helmet to start boarding again after a 12yr hiatus. Was looking at helmets from the major retailers in the area and they were all 200+. Ordered this with expectation to return but ended up keeping it. It's great. Comfortable and shockingly warm. I do agree with the chin strap being very short but with a little bit of Redneck creative engineering I was able to lengthen the strap by creating an extension out of elastic shock cord. Now it fits perfect with flex when looking up and down. I'm not going to downgrade to 4 stars because of a stupid oversight on the strap length. This is really worth it.

I like it ALOT! I ordered this Traverse Helmet after reading the many positive reviews already provided. It offers a really comfy fit. Fits like a glove actually. The two main features that make this helmet the best choice for me are: the ratcheting size adjustment and the removable ear insulation. These two features alone make this helmet the ideal choice for year-round cycling in northern climates. The shell is very solid -- a real plus when riding on dirt roads or other irregular surfaces. This is helmet is a great choice -- fits real well, made quite well, and looks good to boot!. I definitely recommend this helmet to others.

My head is 59cm and the small fit but it is damn close to being too small. if you're an adult I recommend getting the larger size and dial in to your head size. The strap retainer on the rear feels strong so I don't foresee having any issues with it. The ear padding should help reduce some wind during the winter, but I am still going to wear a balaclava underneath. I would recommend this as a quality product.

Cons:The interior is not fancy, its not super soft but it does the job.The ear pads are very loose and do not keep my ears warm, I have to wear a face mask beneath if I want my ears to be warm.It doesn't fit my head properly, it seems that the helmet goes too forward in my head, which can sometimes be a little uncomfortable.Although I love the color, you can scratch and leave marks very easily, which I don't really like.Pros:I love the color of this helmet!The price. It is way cheaper than regular helmets with similar design, and it protects your head.

The helmet paid for itself after just one ski trip--it would have cost me just as much to rent one. It is comfortable and was compatible with my goggles. As far as looks go, this helmet is also good--I got the graphite one, so it mostly blends in, which is what I wanted. Other colors will stand out, if that's what you want. It kept me warm, even on a day when we had 30mph winds and a windchill of -24. I haven't tried it as a bike helmet, but that's just icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. The only drawback is that the chin strap has a penchant for coming undone--the fabric will slide out of the buckle if you have it at or near it's maximum extension. I docked a star for that.

This helmet is great and a tremendous value for the price. I'm no expert on ski helmets (this is my first one) but it fits great, looks good, and the price was right. I have huge goggles (Oakley flight decks) and this helmet accommodates it perfectly. It's very comfortable when skiing, and it's nice and snug once you use the dial in the back to tighten it. My only (minor) complaint is that material that makes up the chin strap keeps loosening from the plastic latch that buckles. So, periodically, I have to tighten the chin strap or else the strap will pull all the way through. Kind of annoying.

I like this helmet very much. I have used it for snowboarding for two seasons now and have had no problem with it. I love that the ear pads and the padding behind the neck have space for inserting ear buds. I purchased a jumbl (that I click onto the side straps of the helmet) and am able to hear music while I am snowboarding alone. The earbuds are inside the padding and not directly in my ears so I can easily hear what is going on around me as well, while I hear the music. Overall the helmet is very comfortable. I have connected my gopro to the helmet as well without any issues (did this after we took the attacked picture so this is not visible in the pic). I have not had a situation yet where I have hit my head, but it seems like good protection.

I struggled to find a snowboarding helmet that comfortably fit my 5 y/o daughter. I was hesitant to purchase an adult small for her, but it fit like a charm. This is the 3rd helmet we tried and it worked well for her. The first two were too narrow for her head. One was an Anon and the other was a Burton.In a pinch she used it once without the padding for a bike helmet. It did not have a short enough strap chin strap for her.
