Natsume's Book of Friends, Vol. 2

The creator has the skill to tell a short story and make you fall in love with the characters in such a short amount of time. Every time. I get so enthralled with the story. Just wonderful. Easy to just pick up and read and put it down to read the next chapter at a later time.

You can't go wrong with this book. It is well-written and has a great many smaller stories with an over laying lager plot, which is clearly carried throughout the entire series. It is a quiet story filled with intrigue, mystery, and aspects of the occult. Don't read this story looking for a lot of fights and action that's not what it's about. The relationships in this story will pull you in and leave you wondering about what happens next. The graphics are also very well done. A great read; you can't go wrong with this book.

Cute series with a fun story line and great artwork!

I was first introduced to Natsume Yuujinchou when I started watching anime. Then I started reading the manga, I immediately fell in love with it. The graphics, the characters and the stories are all so well done.

I really enjoy "Natsume's Book of Friends." It strikes up a sense of nostalgia for me. I can also relate to the main character, Natsume, and his loneliness. Beautiful illustrations.

both 9 and 7 year old girls love these stories. it's their first manga. they mostly read the worriors books, harry potter, things like that. but they love having pictures again. I read one couldn't put it down either.

The series is getting better and better with each volume. The character of Natsume is filling out with each successive chapter. Lonely hearts and friendship. Yokai spiritual interactions with humans. Youth growing up - Coming of age theme.

Update: Returned the product described below and received a replacement vol. 2 of Natsume's Book of Friends. The replacement also had a glaring misprint (a large section of Ch. 6 was dropped into Ch. 7) which was oddly different from the first book that was delivered. Perhaps all the recent prints from the publisher are misprints? So sad about this.CANNOT RECOMMEND PRODUCT DUE TO MISPRINTS.Natsume's Book of Friends is an amazing series! Unfortunately, I received a misprint with MAJOR ERRORS. This printed Vol. 2 was missing most of Chapter 6 and a good chunk of Chapter 7. Over 20 pages missing at least. I'm going to return to seller to see if there are copies without this error. Will update review if issue can be resolved.

Natsume's Book of Friends is a fantastic series and is one that should be read by anyone who wants to read a seriously good series! The art is beautiful and compliments the story and concept very well. Natsume is one of the best Manga characters I have ever read about and you feel very attached to him throughout the series. The story is full of heartwarming and heartbreaking elements and you really feel for all of the characters involved, which is often rare in Manga but Yuki Midorikawa has perfected this and it works continuously. Natsume is one of my favourite Manga's, in fact pieces of Literature that I have ever read.
