Very reasonably priced step counter w/calorie counting. App is MIA.
New rule at work - no smartphones on the floor. So I was looking around for a step counter that counted calories as well as steps and miles. I've used stand alone, pocket step counters in the past so I'm pretty familiar with how to set them up. I don't really need to connect directly to my smartphone or other device. My weight loss/fitness app allows me to enter the information manually - very easily. The only other option I could find on Amazon cost around $23.00, was one I bought in the past and found to be rather large and bulky in my pocket. When I found this one for around $7.00 I thought I'd give it a shot - despite some less than glowing reviews. As I mentioned, I'm pretty familiar with step counters and working my way around small, digital devices that have vaguely labeled buttons. Good thing because this little device didn't come with any instructions in the box and the website it referenced basically doesn't exist anymore. Searching for the app in my iPhone app store came up with nothing related to activity tracking. So anyways - setting it up: There are two buttons on the back and, when used in conjunction with the one on the front, you can cycle through the setup function to set 12/24hr clock type, time and date and enter your weight and height which will automatically calculate your stride length. If you wish, you can override the stride length. Once you've done all that, you have a pretty decent, stand alone step counter that's nice and small - for about $7.00. Not bad. I'm knocking a point off the review because the app can't be found and, since the description makes mention of it (as does the packaging), it's a misleading reference that should be removed.

You get what you pay for
Step counter, miles, possibly calories. NO app to link to. As long as you are just keeping track of your steps it's not totally worthless. Get what you pay for. UPDATE pedometer dropped about a foot and half on a vinyl floor. NO LONGER WORKS! Don't waste your money

Won't sync
This won't sync with a phone. I double checked before ordering and it's still listed as being able to sync with Android.

This was not worth the money at all. Kept falling off my waistband and would zero all the readings. It said I needed to replace the battery but that didn't make any difference, then said the memory was full but I can't link to my android phone so returned. Would NOT recommend.
