I cannot fault the manufacturer for this product. I know now that paying around $40.00 for a usb microscope is not a good idea. I'm now aware that if I want a high-quality microscope it is going to cost more. The entire apparatus feels very cheap and flimsy. The zoom and LED adjustments are such that having to change them while examining some item makes it nearly impossible to get a good focus and clear picture of things. Also, the software that one can download is extremely minimalist. It is a single .exe that runs from whichever folder it sits in. It is really not a quality application. But, as I said, I was likely expecting too much for a $40.00 device. Perhaps fun for kids, but if you're looking to examine coins or something similar, I'd steer clear.

Bought for a badge class to look at some nature items close up. The lens is plastic and very scratched before I even took off the protective tape. However, this is not the focal point of the objects being looked at so they fade into the distance giving a good, sharp picture of what you are looking at. Provides 2 focal lengths. Adjustable light source. Lens has to be touching the object to focus but gives sharp focus and takes good pictures. Hope the technology advances from here because the concept of a portable microscope is really cool but quality has a long way to go. These are fun for kids to play with but won't serve any professional purpose.

I use this in identifying WDO/Termites in the field - outstanding. It zooms to a focus, but if you keep turning the dial, it will focus again to maximum zoom and its impressive.Kids love it too - ants, spiders etc.

Love the battery life for microscopy in the field. Love that a child can easily see using the computer or cell phone. When paired with my own light source it was also able to adequately display prepared slides of things like stained onion cells.

Well made and looks great. Zoom is quite sensitive. Bought it for checking soldered connections on PCB boards.

I got this for my 5-year old daughter to look at flowers. The app is hard to connect. The wifi doesn't show up regularly, and if you try to focus there is such a lag there is no way to get a clear picture. Nice in theory but in application this toy needs to go back to the drawing board. I'm returning mine.

The instructions clearly state to go the the App Store (if Apple) and download Max-See. No such app can be found. Thus, the microscope is worthless.

It can be a toy, it feels like one when your holding it. But its can also be a helpful troubleshooting tool if paired to wifi enabled smart t.v
