These are pretty good.
I have eaten a lot if spicy food in my life, and because of that i have to give these chips a good review. Are they the hottest things I've ever eaten? no. Are they hot at all? yes. Like other reviewers here I wouldn't suggest that these chips be fed to normies because they are pretty hot. A lot of mass-market foods with ghost pepper as an ingredient aren't hot at all, and that may lead to someone underestimating these chips. like I said, they are not for normies. As far as the chips go... they are very thin. Thin tortilla chips are not my preference, but eh whatever. The trademark superhot bitterness is there in multitudes; these chips do not taste nice. They don't taste bad at all, but they have a flavor profile you need to get used to. My main grievance with these is the salt. OMG are they salty, even for tortilla chips. Like... I get it, you put salt on them to enhance flavor, etc. but holy cow the saliferousness of these chips is highly unpleasant. seriously, I needed to drink like a liter of water after eating one bag, and it wasn't due to the heat. an hour later and I am still dry. When you have superhots it is easy to over compensate with other things like spices or salt. I don't blame them for that, but they are really salty. And I love salted snacks. My critique would be incomplete without a message to the company: Please tone down the salt on these a bit. let the flavor of the chips and the ghost pepper do the work. You could also add a bit of sugar to counteract the bitterness of the pepper, but not so much as to make it taste sweet..., sort of like one does with a marinara sauce. anyway, tl;dr: the chips are good and they are very hot. but they are also super salty, which knocks them down a notch. 8/10, will finish the box. would purchase again.

Even a spice lover is impressed. Don’t go in expecting Doritos.
These chips are fresh, high quality, and tortilla chip style. The flavor is a roasty chipotle, ghost pepper, and chili powder with a decent amount of salt. This is the only bag of chips you can buy that I would actually consider to be “spicy”. As far as the spice level goes, i eat one or two when I want a nice burn and 4 or 5 when I’m looking for something more. Paqui is a slow burn, if you eat one and immediately eat three more because you didn’t feel the spice, you may be blasted with heat unexpectedly. You could eat them with dip, but be warned it would kill the spice as the seasoning is powdered. This is an authentic spicy tortilla chip experience and CHILI PEPPER is the main flavor. The preparation allows the peppers and the salt to shine through and highlight the quality of the tortilla chip. Don’t buy this if you’re expecting cheeto, takis, doritos levels of sugary sweetness, fat, and salt. This is not like other commercial chips.

Bam!
Wow! Let me start with Thank you to whoever was Bold enough to invent this brand and these chips! All Natural Real Ingredients!? Right off the bat that's incredible as most chips (especially hot ones) have more chemicals then under your kitchen sink. Second they're actually amazing!! I like hot stuff, and so does my teenage son, we love these ghost pepper chips and get a real kick out of the heat! But the best part is they're actually Really good too! I've found with hot sauces over the years, some have tons of fire but no flavor, others balance both, that's what these chips are like! The heat will have you sweating, but the flavor is so tasty you come back for more! I love them! My wife and daughter like the concept of real food too and enjoy the other Paquis that are mostly spicy, but not on this level. I love the concept, the flavor, the packaging. I'm all in 10 out of 10!

The taste is as good as the heat!
I would start this off by saying I'm a pepper fanatic, I love anything that's spicy and painful so naturally I have a high tolerance for heat. I ordered these chips to go with a ghost pepper salsa I had also purchased for that delightful 2-punch heat. Chips arrived in a Paqui branded shelf-style box and none appeared damage. Immediately upon arrival, I had to tear open a bag and try and out. The smell of the chips were very clean, not too pungent much like the flavor nor did they burn my nostrils. The chips were mostly intact with only a couple being broken however it's a bag of chips, it's gonna happen regardless. The taste of the chips were really good, I know some people have mentioned how they lacked flavor or tasted bland. I would have to agree with that to an extent. The chips were a little bland, however I tend to like chips more on the bland side. The chips weren't super salty and overall reminded me of a spiced-up version of original Sunchips. I would say the only downside of the chips flavor wise is a slight lack of seasoning. I didn't immediately taste the chips, it took a few moments before I did, however when the flavor hit it was good, not over-bearing like some brands, but a very nice flavor nonetheless. So let's get into the heat. If you're looking for chips that have an immediate heat affect, this isn't that. I would describe these chips as a nice slow burn with quite a bit of a worm up. After one chip, you let your guard down and start indulging in the rest and the heat does quickly catch up to you. After the 5th chip, perhaps a minute or so in, you'll really start to feel that nice burn. One of my favorite qualities about ghost peppers is the slow warm up, creates a bit of suspense. As for the heat rating, I wouldn't say it's very hot at all. Perhaps a little hotter than cayenne powder. I wish there was a little more heat in the chips for the value!

The right kind of Kick
This item was brought with the One chip challenge in mind (not the chips in this bag), I wanted to see what the brand was about. When the chip came I likes that you can see the flavor powder throughout the bag and that most of the chips were whole. I took one chip and the crisp crunch of the chip the thinness of it as well was perfect. I continued to eat 2 more when the burn kicked in. This was awesome. I had to get milk and really wash my hands (see the mention of the powder) as I have kids around and didn't want to touch them with the hand by accident. I put it on a high shelf and have continued to eat it 3-4 chips at a time. The burn level is just right, but can be deemed too spicy for some, please have bread and milk like product near by as you eat. But even though I know the burn is coming, I will eat this entire bag, because it taste so good. I am even considering crushing it to use as chicken coating for a meal (i will keep you posted).

5 Count Bags All Expire in 30 Days!!
I love these Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips. I am wondering why is the word "Spicy" in the headline when it says "Not Hot" in the upper right corner of the bag? Don't get me wrong, they are still very delicious and enjoyable and I've ordered these tortilla chips many times. If you buy these bags one at a time through Amazon.com, they would cost you around $12.00, including shipping costs -- for one bag!! That is the reason why I love buying the 5-pack. Although the prices have gone up a few dollars since the last time I ordered, I find that they are worth the cost. Saying that, I just received my 5-pack today that I ordered. All the bags EXPIRE in 30 DAYS!! I was hoping I could take my time eating these through the next few months -- I am not happy that they expire so soon. I also noticed this one other time when I ordered the Pacqui Haunted Ghostpepper tortilla chips and ended up throwing out 3 bags because they expired and got stale quickly!! Amazon, don't you have bags of these that expire later or are you just trying to sell products that are due to expire soon to get them off your shelves? I am NOT happy!!

A balanced and fair review
I'm already a chili head and since the one chip challenge chips are hard to come by right now unless you want to pay about $18, I decided to buy a bag of these Haunted Ghost Pepper Chips. Right off the bat, I didn't expect these chips to be nothing as warm as the one-chip challenge chip (which is seasoned with a cross breed of a habanero and ghost pepper which is called the Carolina Reaper). I didn't know what to expect when tasting the first chip. The heat levels were "respectable" and not overbearing, however, for anyone who thinks habanero is "too warm", you may not enjoy the experience as it will overwhelm your senses. For someone who was originally looking for the Carolina Reaper chip, I knew these ghost chips would be tolerable at a minimum, and I was write. I was skeptical about whether the heat would overpower the flavor, but was surprised to discover that unlike many ""extreme" spicy foods"" that brag about scoville units, these had a good taste that cut through the heat. I will be reordering just because they're enjoyable (to me).

Good Dipping Chip
Based on some of the reviews and the reputation of Paqui's one-chip-challenge (based on a different chip - not the one in this bag) I was actually worried. These chips are not nearly as hot as the hype. As in, if you get this bag and eat a chip plain, you're not going to cry. You're not going to spend time in pain and regretting it. I consider myself someone who has a high spice tolerance (as in, I'll order 5-stars spicy from most restaurants), but I've never done the spice competition thing. i don't think eating raw habaneros or raw jalapenos is fun. If you took 100 random people, i'd be in the top 5 in terms of spice tolerance, but I probably wouldn't be number 1. These are hotter than any commercial chip i've ever had, but they are not going to hurt you. Don't be afraid of them. I would not want to eat 20 of these chips in a row plain because I wouldn't enjoy it. The heat would be too high and dominates the flavor. But these are perfect for dipping in Guacamole or mild/medium salsa or pico. If you're dipping these in something to dilute them a bit, they're perfect. Bottom line: If you consider yourself someone who generally likes very spicy - spicier than most/all of your friends- but you don't relate to the crazies who eat chilis straight up or compete, then you can still handle these. You will probably enjoy them more if you uses them in situations where there's some kind of dip. I wouldn't enjoy 20 of these straight up, but with guacamole, that would be easy and enjoyable. Dipping these in guacamole probably brings the net heat level down to somewhere in the generic mainstream hot salsa range.
