MagswitchResaw Guide - Tool Attachment for use with the Magswitch Workholding System

I actually don't own the magswitch base. I made my own base out of 3/4 ply and attached this resaw guide to it. It's working very well. Resawing is so much easier with this guide. I am DIY person that usually prefers to make my own jigs rather than buying them but this was well worth the money.

First let me say this system is expensive but it should last a lifetime. The larger magnets have 150 pounds of holding power each which is quite impressive. The whole system is well made. I have 3 separate units each with its own magnets as I am too busy to be "swapping" the base around.This unit is to replace the fence on a band saw and should (IMO) be used with a feather board. It is a "point fence" which enables resawing of bowed boards.

They dont send instructions, and while it is mostly self-explanatory, there are parts that come with it that I still don’t know what they are.This guide and another are interchangeable with the base which you need to have in order to use this. Unfortunately swapping out different units with the base is kind of a pain in the ass, screws are all different sizes (which was unnecessary they should’ve made them all one size and make it easy). They seem to make it more complicated for no particular reason at all.

... as long as you're resawing away from the fence. If you're resawing on the fence side, you have to keep moving the magnetic base, which is not it's fault, but slows you down. It's easy enough to set it up so that it is perfectly square to the table base.

This thinks works really well for re-sawing on the bandsaw. I just started using this along with my new blade and Carter Bandsaw Guides, and I am very impressed with the results. Veneers at a consistent 3/32" that are 10" wide.

I bought the resaw guide along with the Magswitch Starter Kit as an alternative to an existing resaw fence on my bandsaw. I was initially concerned of how well the magnets would hold the fence true and not slip especially when resawing wide boards. To my surprise it worked exceptionally well. I had one board that was 9 inches wide with a slight cup causing the blade to bind and put pressure on the fence. The fence held true and did not slip. I would highly recommend this product. It is easy to use, the magnets turn on and off with a simple flip of the switch. The only complaint I would have is it is a little confusing when purchasing this product. The resaw fence is not sold with the base or the magnets you must buy the starter kit.Rockford Illinois

I now own four magswitch products and am thrilled with all of them. I've used the Resaw guide a number of times now and it performs very well. I taught adult woodworking education for 15 years and have always been very safety conscious; the Magswitch products fit well in my shop.
